s/o Holiday Train rides

Thank you @Laurski81 for mentioning the holiday train rides! I didn't realize they had those around here so I googled it and found 3 places that do them and 2 are already sold out!! This is totally something I want to do this year. I found a great website that lists the places that do it for all the states in case anyone wants to find one:

Also I discovered a lot of park districts do them too but looks like they fill up real fast.

Oh and I found a place that does ghost train rides in October - FUN!!! :) Anyone ever done one of those?

Our local train depot does the Polar express and the ghost train! The Polar Express was like @Laurski81‌ and sold out in 2 minutes it's crazy! The Ghost Train is also super fun!! I loved it when I was little! Have fun!
@cbear2010  I'd love to take Ava on the ghost train - do you think it would be ok for a 2 year old? In the description it says all ages. I guess they take a ride through the woods and stop to have a campfire, tell ghost stories and eat smores. Sounds fun to me! :)

  • Tickets to our local Polar Express sold out so quickly, but my dad managed to snag 4 so we will be going this year! With K's train obsession, I know he will love it and I am so excited!!

I have never done a Halloween ride or even heard of one around here, but we do a hay ride every year at a local farm. It's not made to be scary, but its really fun and also goes through the pumpkin patch where you can pick out a pumpkin. I think one of my favorite parts of having a child is getting to be one again :)

Our park district does a polar express and you have to enter a lottery to get tickets. It's ridiculous. We got to go last year and it was the worst, most boring, waste of money train ride I've ever been on. If you're part of a local moms group on Facebook or anything, I would ask if anyone has been on the train ride before trying to get tickets.
That's such a bummer! I have never been to ours, but I have heard wonderful things, so I'm hoping its worth it! The tix were free for us, but I know my dad spent a pretty penny on them.

  • The one around does the holiday one, but we are doing a Peanuts Halloween one! Which reminds me- I have to get a snoopy Halloween shirt.
A peanuts one? That sounds really cool!
