Re: ***3rd Tri Check In*** (9/10)

  • Hey ladies. I hope you all are having a great week.

How far along are you? I am 38w2d
Upcoming appointments? Weekly appointment is on Friday
Any updates to share? Nothing special going on here. Just playing the hurry up and wait game or so that is what is feels like.
How are you feeling? I am feeling huge and ready to be done. I hate not being able to bend over and do simple tasks like put on socks. I am ready for LO to get here already. I know many FTM go after their due date and I hope I am not one of them. I started having really inconsistent contractions or really strong braxton hicks on Monday. They were an hour and a half apart but disappeared almost completely Tuesday. Today I've had some pain but not like I did on Monday. I downloaded a contraction app on my phone to help me figure out if these are real or not and when I should be calling my doctor.

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)?  DH a few weeks ago was "playing" with LO by moving his hand over my belly. He had this goofy grin on his face that I will never forget. Also today at work I was thrown a surprise baby shower. My manager threw it together and I was so surprised because I am planning to work until 9/19 unless LO gets here before then. I feel so lucky to have found the position I did with this company. Definitely feeling blessed today.

I hope you ladies have a great week!

  • Yay recent grads!! Congrats ladies!!! Hope everyone is doing well!! 36w5d and had our weekly OB appt. Had an u/s yesterday where they think Mr. Man is measuring 2 weeks ahead. I was SO super uncomfortable last night. He felt so low and I felt so much pressure, I totally felt like he was moving down or something was happening! Well, Dr did a cervical check today and said I was 2cm! Now, I know that can mean anything....I can progress quickly, or it can take a few weeks yet, but holy cow! LOL on a sad nite (IMO) I did come back GBS positive :( so I will need IV antibiotics in the hospital :( so I've had strep A in my throat for the past 2 weeks and now I find that I'm GBS + down there. I know it's common and whatever, but I was just disappointed to hear. QOTW: I agree with the melting of when DH plays with/reads to/talks to Mr. Man :)

Me:Hypothyroid DH: Type II diabetic. Together since 03/2007, Married 10/2011, D/C bc 10/2011. TTC: 11/2011. Charted BBT and CV along with OPK 10/2011-02/2012 Baseline labs 02/2012 WNL, SA 03/2012: botched sample by lab - destroyed hubby's confidence. 04/2012 Clomid 05/2012 Clomid 06/2012 Clomid 07/2012 Clomid and Ovidrel 08/2012 Ovidrel (I never knew that I was supposed to be monitored while on meds...I never was. I asked for u/s and other tests to see why we weren't getting pregnant, doc just kept giving me meds and telling me to go to his church for a "laying of hands") Stopped all monitoring/testing/temps, etc, Sex became a chore and we started to grow apart. At 12 mos I decided to look for another doc. 02/2013 consult with new doc....3 days later testing began...u/s, all good, HSG: all good, labs: all good, ovulating, etc. Started on Pregnitude. 04/2013 failed attempt for SA, 05/2013 failed attempt SA. 12/2013 SA: 3% morph, abnormal functionality. DH started Pycnogenol. RE consult 01/15/2014.

    ALL Welcome :)

  • I missed last week's check-in because the semester is really getting going.
Our next appointment is next week on the 18th.
We are going to my family's this weekend for a shower. I am nervous about it because my family has been not been very supportive about IVF/surrogacy.

I broke my foot teaching class yesterday, so that has me extra grumpy. Crutches and I are currently having a love/hate relationship.

QOTW: I am a little sad about this one, because I feel like we haven't quite got to have that feeling of a regular parent quite yet. I am looking forward to saying, "This is my son/daughter"

QOTW: I have a ds who is 3 and I love when I ask him where the babies are and he points to my stomach. I also love all of their kicks. I can't wait to meet these LOs but I hope they stay put a lot longer.

  • Thanks for the check-in Jen!  32w2d today, feeling OK and have an appointment this afternoon plus getting my tdap shot today.  I'm starting to get a little swelling in my feet, and otherwise just have general discomfort, but it's not too bad.  I had my shower on Saturday and it was wonderful, it was such a happy day and I felt really lucky and blessed to have family and friends there to celebrate this baby.  I'm sure we'll spend the weekend sorting and putting everything away.  My boss sent me a save the date yesterday for a work shower too in a few weeks :-)  We started our hospital child birth classes last week and have our tour tonight, so things are moving along!

@lincoln79 So sorry that you broke your foot!  Hope your shower goes well this weekend.

Hi ladies.  I'm 28 weeks today, so I'd like to join you.

I'm due 12/5 with a baby girl.  Been feeling most of my pregnancy and trying to exercise, keep good nutrition and sleep a lot.  Heartburn is still an issue, but trying to manage it.  Our next appointment is the 19th- sugar checks... eek!  I have PCOS, so sugars have always been a problem for me... really hoping LO is okay and there's no GD.

LIke once every two weeks I wake up and just feel terrible.  I reserve those days (for the most part), to try to just stay in bed and relax.  My DH says he doesn't understand because we are so happy we finally got pregnant, but some days my body is just not loving carrying all this extra weight.

    IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14
FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16

  • Hi!!  29+2 today.  I failed my first glucose test pretty badly (169) but passed the 3 hour test with flying colors (passed all 4 blood draws).  I think it was due to what I ate the morning of the 1 hour test.  My doctor says to eat a normal breakfast, and I ate a piece of Zucchini bread and an apple 5 hours before the test, but failed.  Oh well, I'm in the clear now!

How far along are you? 29+2
    Upcoming appointments? Next Wednesday
Any updates to share? No updates really.
How are you feeling?  Feeling good pregnancy-wise, although I think I might have shinsplints and might have to reduce my walking.  I feel like I'm coming down with a cold too :(.

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)?  Good and bad here - Seeing our little bean's HB every week early on.  We saw two HB's at 7w and lost one before 8w.  Our RE seemed 50/50 on whether we would miscarry both or if baby would be absorbed.  So, when we went back at 9w and saw that beautiful HB, I cried tears of joy!  Also had two bleeds, so every time seeing the HB brought me to tears.  This all happened after my first RE told us there was nothing he could do anymore (had lining issues) and suggested a surrogate.

    **Sig warning***

    TTC since 9/2011. DH - 32, me 32.

IUI#1 (natural): BFN; IUI#2 (clomid): BFN; IUI#3 (clomid and follistim): BFN.

IVF #1 March 2013, freeze all (OHSS).

    FET#1 June: BFN

FET#2 August: delayed due to thin lining (6.3).  Took a few months off to try and thicken the lining with lots of estrodial.  FET#2.2 December: Cancelled due to thin lining (4.8). Two frosties left.

*New RE* Sonohystrogram and hystereoscopy done in Feb.

IVF #2: ER 3/4/14  ET 3/7/14, transferred 3, 3 day 9 cell perfect embryos.  No frosties.

    Beta #1 (14dp3dt) 504

    Beta #2 (21dp3dt) 11,561

First ultrasound on 4/3/14 showed 3 sacs: one empty and two with beating hearts!!  At 7w2d, found out that one baby did not have a heartbeat anymore.  Praying that baby B makes it.  Baby B is a girl!

    EDD 11/25/14 BORN 11/29/14

**PAIF/anyone welcomed to comment!!  Thank you.

  • Can I join??

How far along are you?  I'm 28w5d today.

Upcoming appointments?  I had a regular appointment last week - everything looks good and measuring on track.  One more appointment and I'm down to every two weeks.

Any updates to share?  I'm so relieved that I passed my one hour glucose.  I failed when I went with DS so I thought I was bound to fail again this time!

How are you feeling?  I'm feeling pretty good, pregnancy wise.  I'm just super exhausted, but I think that's mostly due to my 2 year old!  I'm getting a little uncomfortable from time to time, but nothing too bad.

  • @lincoln79 . . .so sorry about your foot and especially with the start of classes that has got to be hard! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

@mmhopeful will be thinking of you next Tuesday! Good luck with your boys! You did a great job keeping them in there for so long!

AFM: 31 weeks today. My next appointment is next Tuesday and that starts my weekly appointments. I'm really starting to feel very, very pregnant the aches, pains and general discomfort. I have my shower this weekend, and praying that the weather holds and we have a  sunny fall day. Just praying for no rain, as it will be outdoors at a park. Looking forward to seeing family & friends!

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)? Having my DH touch my belly and feel them kick. Although sometimes, I think the touch of his hand just calms them down. My other AW moment is I have this great u/s of baby A face from our 28 week growth scan. All you can see is his nose, lips and chin but it looks like he was pressing up against a piece of glass. I giggle and think of that picture often and how I just can't wait to meet them in real life and in living color.

  • Hi Ladies, please add me!! I'm very excited to be here in 3rd-tri! It feels like such a huge milestone and just a few months ago I was in complete denial.

28+6 today (Due 11/28) and still holding steady on team green. I have an overwhelming feeling it's a girl and we cannot agree on a girl name. go figure! I have my glucose test on monday so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. We are also in the beginning stages of a renovation which I am slowly losing faith will be done before babe gets here. I'll just have to roll with the punches and take things as they come.

  • 33 weeks 2 days today. Went to see the doctor thrice this week. It has been crazy. Last Friday, I had low fluid and was asked to consume more liquids. I went back on Monday and had an even bigger shock. Ultrasound showed that baby had grown only 3 ounces in 2 weeks. My OB advised that I take Betamethasone shots for maturing baby's lungs. DH & I have been anxious and worried sick. I went back to the doctor today. The fluid is still low but doctor said baby is active. I will be monitored twice weekly now. I moved up my last day at work to Monday September 15th. Hoping this baby stays in until due date.

Upcoming appointments? Usual NST and BPP next week. We also are planning on doing growth at the BPP as well.
Any updates to share? I saw the only DR I hadn't met in the practice yesterday. He was amazed that I'm measuring 46 weeks and haven't gone into labor yet. He legit bowed down to me. Lol
How are you feeling? OK. The swelling is moving up my legs and by bedtime I feel like I have tree trunks for legs. I'm about done. Anytime after this weekend would be fabulous.

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)?
I love when DH "plays" with the babies. When they are kicking and active, he will push on parts of my stomach to get them to react. It makes me realize that we really are going to be parents after thinking it was never going to happen for so long.

  • How far along are you? I am 30+2 today
Upcoming appointments? I had my 30 week appointment yesterday, she said I am measuring right on so I am very happy about that.  I got my flu shot and next time will get my TDAP.  Appointments are every 2 weeks now.
Any updates to share? i had my shower last weekend and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.  I feel like everytime I look into a mirror I cannot beleive that is really my belly.  Ellie got the hiccups for the first time last night and it was so cute, my belly was just moving away.. I don't think she like them.  I could sit and watch my belly move all day.
How are you feeling? I am feeling very good.  My tailbone has started to hurt but I think that is really more due to my massage therapist... she hurts me when she does my tail bone area.  Other than that I have had some small "Oh crap" moments that I have learned pretty much all I need to know about pregnancy and now need to start reading up on parenting!  It seems to have hit my like a ton of bricks.

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)?  My nursery is my big AW I think.  I have been dreaming of my nursery (boy or girl) for soooo long and to finally see it in the flesh is almost more than I can stand.  I just am shocked how my vision came out so well in real form.

  • How far along are you? 30 weeks 5 days Upcoming appointments? Just had one so not for another two weeks. Any updates to share? My urine just had a little extra protein but everything else was good so they were just at the keep an eye on things stage. Then at my regular appointment I still had a little extra protein plus some swelling and my blood pressure went up although it's not high at all (122/67 compared to 105/52) in less than a week. Also lost my mucous plug already so that means no more work and basic house arrest for at least the next two weeks. Doctor did say don't count on going back though. How are you feeling? What I told my doctor is I don't care what I need to do, I want two healthy full term babies and I will do whatever it takes to get them here safely. Feeling better now that I'm not working but I'm running out of room in here!

  • Sorry for checking in so late, been busy this week. Thanks for another great check in!

The shower was fantastic. Everyone was incredibly generous, so many cute things! This baby is so loved by so many already! Everything was beautiful and the Curious George theme we are doing in the nursery was represented throughout. I was completely humbled by the love of family & friends.

    How far along are you?
    I amy 34w3d.

    Upcoming appointments?
I have another appointment Friday. At our ultrasound (was moved to this pass Tuesday) we found that baby is already measuring 6.2lb and his head & abdomen are already in the 96th percentile. Doc is doing weekly appointments. And we have a growth scan on the 30th.

    Any updates to share?
doc warned if baby gets too much bigger than they will take him early.

    How are you feeling?
I feel good, tired due to busy week. Other than that no changes.
Me: 33 - PCOS & Hypothyroidism DH: 35 - SA is good Married since 2010 (together since 2006) TTC since June 2009 (we knew we would have issues and wanted family right away after we got married). No pregnancies yet. May 2013 - started first round of Chlomid & ovidrel cycle.
  • I guess I get to make the *official* jump to the third tri check in (Sorry this is late -- I couldn't remember what day the check in was last week!) My actual due date is Nov. 28, but I'll be delivering these boy/girl twins hopefully between Nov. 1 - 15th (it's looking like a C-section since they're both breech and have never flipped, but my doctor still holds out hope).

    How far along are you?
    29w4d - Acorn Squash

    Upcoming appointments?
Cervical check / ultrasound on Thursday (9/18)

    Any updates to share?
As tired and uncomfortable as I feel, I'm actually doing really well. Aside from some pretty extreme anemia, this has been a pretty complication-free multiples pregnancy. I keep my fingers crossed every day that it continues to be so.

Had my family baby shower this weekend and am having a work one this week. The family one was great -- got to see a few friends I hadn't seen in a long time. Lots of baby clothes, but I honestly think they're soooo cute. I love getting clothes. Washing and folding on the clothes, on the other hand, was much less fun.

    How are you feeling?
I've decided to let this pic speak for me today.

QOTW: Obviously it took us all a lot to get here. Has there been any moments throughout your pregnancy when you just couldn't help but AW (good or bad)?
I've tried to keep things like my AW FB posts to a minimum (I know how hard it was when we were struggling with IF and, plus, I don't want to be THAT person who constantly posts about her pregnancy)... but I totally AW'd when we got decent 3D shots of them. It was only a couple times, however, since our babies love to put their hands (and legs!) in front of their faces. Hiding from the camera, just like their dad!

  • Hi ladies,

Baby Crafty arrived (finally!) at 41w1d on 9/11. She was a healthy 9lb, 9oz and measured 21.75" long. I'll post a birth story in the next few days, but the short-ish version:

OB stripped my membranes at early 9/10 appt. By the time I got to the car, my water broke. We made our way back to OB's office and I was admitted to the hospital. Kept with plan to be as natural as possible for awhile, but OB used miso (sp?) suppository to get my cervix going after several hours, then introduced pitocin toward the end. Somewhere along the lines I quickly changed my mind about not getting the epidural. After being at it for 30+ hours, baby stopped moving down, and I stalled at 8-9cm, so OB convinced us c-section was safest route to deliver this big baby.

DH and I are so in love with her. More -- with a photo! -- when I have a chance.

Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).

    Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3

    IUI#1 June 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): BFN
    IUI#2 July 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): BFN
    IUI#3 August 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): CP (Beta #1: 4.61, Beta #2: 1.0)
IUI#4 October 2012 (Follistim, ovulated before trigger, missed IUI, converted to TI): BFN
    Jan. 2013 New RE
IVF #1 June 2013 MDL Protocol. Converted to IUI#4.1. (High E2 and 3+ mature follicles at first monitoring.) BFFN
IVF #1.2 August 2013 Stop Lupron Protocol with Human Growth Hormone added. 17R, 14M, 9F (with ICSI), 2 embryos (decent quality - grade 2) transferred on day 3, 2 blasts made it to freeze. Beta 8/26. BFFN :'(

    FET #1 December 2013 Last try! Transferred 2 blasts -- graded 3AB and 4BB. Beta #1 (12/27/13) 530. Beta #2 (12/30/13) 1876. BFP! One bean. EDD 9/3/2014!

We welcomed the most beautiful baby girl into the world on September 11, 2014!
