Re: *~September Sapphires Check-In~* (Sept. 10)

  • Thanks for the check in @MyFirstRaspberry‌ . Thankfully, I have good news to report. I got my levels tested today and they were 490!!! They were 1700 just 13 days ago, and 4000 on Aug 2. So it seems like once the spotting stopped and I shedded that lining the betas have kicked it into high gear, or one can hope. The only other exciting thing I have going on this week is my first acupuncture appt on Friday.

  • Hello Ladies! I have some updates this week.

I was going back and forth with my insurance and my RE office on the coverage of Femara for my first medicated IUI cycle. The process was becoming a real pain and the lovely assistant at the RE office found me a 3 months supply of Femara that another patient dropped off!! So I picked up the free meds and the rest I picked up at the pharmacy for a total $200. Not bad!

This morning I had a CD3 u/s and bloodwork and I have been cleared to start Femara tonight! Very excited and perfect timing because we are going away for the weekend and I didn't want to miss any appts. My next monitoring appt is after we return next week.

QOTW: Do you prefer soup or salad?
Usually I prefer a really unhealthy creamy soup with a side of bread to dip. From time to time, I choose a salad for a lighter meal.

  • Hi Sapphires!   As you know, DH recently got over a pretty intense case of chicken pox. Right after he got back to work, they offered him an awesome opportunity for a development experience in Washington, DC for a week. He is working there all week, coming back late Friday night, and we are heading out for St Lucia early Sunday morning. I'm sure Saturday will be plenty hectic packing and getting ready but I'm super excited for the trip! While DH is away, I'm holding down the fort at home. Of course, work is hectic this week and our puppy got an ear infection so I had to squeeze in an expensive vet visit plus manage all sorts of pills and drops for her. I can definitely use a vacation!

Currently, I'm off BC again but I got AF on Tuesday and I had CD3 bloodwork this morning.  If all looks good, I'm back on BC for our trip and I start Lupron the day after we get back.  I'm looking forward to getting back into the IVF cycle.  I've had enough of a break and I really want to move towards hopefully having a baby of my own.

QOTW:  I'm mostly a salad person although I love a warm bowl of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich on a cold day!

    All Welcome!

  • @LauraO11 - So glad your levels are dropping!  The waiting is so awful.  I hope you enjoy the accupunture!

@MyFirstRaspberry - I'm so happy to hear the RE's office was able to help you out with meds.  I can completely relate to battles with the insurance company.  It seems so unfair that the coverage is so limited for infertility.  Enjoy your trip!

YH is in my neck of the woods!!  I hope he has a good time hanging out in DC this week. At least the weather isn't super hot.

Have fun on your trip! I won't be too upset with you for not checking in next week ;) Have some drinks for me.

I know your medication schedule is annoying but I am happy to hear you are moving through the progression smoothly.

  • Hello, everyone! ((hugs)) all around.

@LauraO11 Hooray for good news! GL with the acupuncture.
@MyFirstRaspberry That's so awesome about your meds! I hope you have a wonderful weekend away.
@CallaLily30 Glad to hear that your husband is feeling better. Congrats on the new opportunity, too. Hope your puppy heals up quickly and you have a great vacation.

We fly out tomorrow night and I'm feeling surprisingly calm. This probably means I'll sob the entire flight home. :) Unless, I'm forgetting something major, I think we're ready. I'm in the TWW as well. Luckily I've been so distracted by the move that I haven't have time to obsess over it.

QOTW: I usually go for soup, but I can't wait to have a big salad when I get home. (We don't see a lot of salads down here. It's all about meat and yucca.)
