Is this weird or normal? Calling moms of boys….

So very rarely (say I catch him doing it every 6 months or so), ever since he was like 2.5 or 3 DS1 does this weird thing where he rubs his penis on a pillow. Almost like he's humping it? Does anyone else's kid do this? I'm guessing he did it by accident and it felt good so he continues it? We had a problem when he was 3 with DS always having his hand down his pants too so we talked about doing it only in the bathroom or his room. He's since stopped that but I caught him rubing himself on a pillow again today. I didn't make a big deal about it or really acknowledge it at all because I was surprised given that he hasn't done it in a long time…..I'm just wondering if this is really weird behavior.

    My boy is only 18 months, so we're not there yet, but it sounds normal from what I've read.

    DS is funny, he just now really discovered he has a penis. Everytime he's naked he looks and touches it for a moment as though he's checking that it's still there. Once verified, he goes back to playing.

    Yes, normal. DS has been doing it for quite awhile. He lies on his blanket and rolls around. Since he has been getting older we have started to talk about things we do privately, so we suggest he go up to his room.
