A good change

So I'm not sure what has come over me this evening but I have been doing some thinking. I posted a few weeks ago about girls I thought were friends basically stopped talking to me... reasons unknown. Well I have decided that life is too short for me to worry about people who obviously dont give a damn about me or my life. I have always been a shy person but I am going to come out of my comfort zone and find a mom group to join. I will hopefully make some good friends that are worth my time! If you have any positive stories you would like to share about mom groups or meeting new people, please share with me! I am nervous to come out of my comfort zone and I would love some encouragement :)

Re: A good change

  • Good luck and you can do it! I made a great friend out on a walk (started a conversation with a new mom I ran into). Lately I have a whole new group of girl friends who are new moms and it has been great!

  • I was so pessimistic about joining a mom group but I am SO glad I did. I haven't made any best friends but I've learned a lot, received great advice and also gotten a lot of support when needed. It may take a few tries but you'll find the one that fits you. I'm so happy I "drank the koolaid" :)

  • Good luck! I want to join a mom group but I'm afraid it'll be hard since I don't drive- I guess that should be a goal for me before Brooke turns 1!

  • Good luck! I'd love to join a mums group but there just aren't any where I live.
  • Good for you! I joined a few different mom programs in my community and the first day out I met a great girl who happens to live down the street and she introduced me to all of her mom friends in the area. It has been great! Before meeting this group I felt like I didn't have anyone who I could really relate to, in terms of having a baby because most of my good friends are childless.

Getting out and meeting new people is totally worth it (and that's coming from an introvert!)
  • Good for you! GL with making new friends, and just remember, you don't have to take them home after the date ;)

No stories, but GL! I too am kinda shy & want to find some moms for play dates and the like. DH & I moved to Cincinnati a year ago, & I practically got pregnant the moment we got here, and between a semi - tough pregnancy, and the horrible winter, I basically never left the house. Then babe was born, and I have yet to really meet anyone; so I can relate. Again, GL!
I live in Northern KY - we should look for a mom group and join together!
Cincy moms are the best.  :x
