Trouble TTC

Another Progesterone Suppository Question

I'm nearing the end my first cycle using progesterone suppositories -- I suppose I should be more excited to take that HPT in a couple of days but I just "feel" like it's going to be BFN because the last day I've felt PMS-y like pre AF cramps and stuff like that.

So my question is this: should I expect AF to be heavier or longer than normal because of the added progesterone? It is supposed to increase the thickness of the uterus lining right? So that makes me think it means AF should be heavier. Is that true? I just want to be prepared product-wise and also mentally. AF grosses me out even after 20 years worth of visits.

Re: Another Progesterone Suppository Question

  • I've always found the progesterone can cause weird cramping, so don't count yourself out yet. I did not find AF was any different.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

I have gotten way heavier periods since starting treatments, but I'm not sure if it's from the Letrozole or progesterone suppositories.

I did both Letrozole and progesterone suppositories this cycle so I'll prepare for heavier just in case. Thanks! If it's not heavier then I'll consider it a happy surprsie and high five the other ladies who commented on this thread. ( @emmuffy @pintobean39 @carsaidyes

  • I did Letrozole and Estrace and surprisingly did not experience a significantly heavier period.

Hope you get good news in a couple days!
