Old wives tale??

    My DD was consistantly 148ish so acurate? (I don't remember the wivestale tbh).
    That being said, still a 50/50 shot. This one was 128 so boy right?

    No clue, but my Mom swears that I'm having a girl bc the baby's hb is 150bpm. She said girls tend to have faster heartbeats. I really hope she's right!

    My sons HB was consistently 132-140. At my first u/s this baby's was 160. So, girl? We shall see.

    My son's heart rate was consistently in the 160's throughout my last pregnancy. This little one had a heartbeat of 160 at the initial appointment... so we shall see!

    The only truth in this old wive's tale is that often when you are in active labor a baby girl's heart rate is a bit higher than a boy's. Through the duration of your PG it means nothing.

    I think they say fast heart rate girl slower boy. O was a fast heart rate but he's all boy!:). So don't think it's true!:)

    My son's heart rate was consistently in the 160s. My last ulstrasound, yesterday, showed heart rates at 148 and 154. Hmm, now I wonder?!

    Curious as well :) Last u/s on 9/8 the heartbeat was 160 and my little peanut was dancing all around :)

    I've been researching this for years and self published a collection of Old Wives Tales that has a chapter on gender identification and, believe it or not, ways to ensure you get the gender you desire.  Hey, they are Old Wives Tales but fun to read.  If you get a minute check out my Old Wives Tales for New Mothers Facebook page and help me on my next book which will be a collection of anecdotes that people personally experienced some sort of relationship between Old Wives Tales and actual events.  By the way, this is all for fun but it is fascinating.

    With my son, first HR was 160.

    This time, HR was 170 at my first appt.
