Favorite Fall Things

Okay. Fall is here (basically)

I'm ready to find an apple orchard or pumpkin match with mazes. I'm also super stoked for the covered bridge festival in Indiana next month. A week an a half of crafts, junk, food, covered bridges, and pretty fall leaves.

So what are your favorite things about fall? Any special things you like to do or places to go? Any plans or ideas for LO? Let's hear it!

Re: Favorite Fall Things

  • It will be DD's first time to go to the pumpkin patch & I'm SO excited! Taking DS every year is one of my fondest memories with him. Taking pictures, picking out pumpkins...it all gets me so excited for Halloween.

DS is going to be Frankenstein this year. Nothing for DD yet. I'd love some ideas for her if anyone has any.

We've never been during Christmas time :( I'll bet it's gorgeous though! But, we love doing the paddle boats and breakfast there during the summer.
  • I'm also so excited for football, boots and sweaters, family time, pumpkin bread and lattes, scarves, crisp air and wearing cute jackets, dressing DS up in his overalls, and the holidays. DH's birthday is Halloween so that's always fun and mine is just 12 days later. So lots to look forward to! I'm also super excited to see LO get bigger and take it all in too. (Don't even get me started on my excitement for Christmas this year!)
  • I love fall. The pumpkin patch we go to makes the best pumpkin donuts in existence. And apple dumplings. And apple cider slushies.

DD is having her first big birthday party this year with lots of her classmates. So fun to watch her get all excited.

I also like my fall wardrobe much better than other seasons. Maybe I'll actually fit into some of it soon!

  • We love fall! I'm anxiously waiting to put some fall decor around the house.

I am looking forward to going to our fave cider mill with DD and drinking our hot cider as we walk along the trail.

We usually go to Ren Fest, but I think it might be complicationed with a LO to deal with. So next year for sure

Half my grocery cart was filled with pumpkin spice treats last time we went!

Also, DD will be dressed as a pumpkin for Halloween this year :-) so cute!

  • I'm looking forward to taking the kids to the pumpkin patch and the annual fall festival and parade. I can't wait for DS to see his Jake and the Neverland Pirates costume! I have an extensive scarf collection that I'm looking forward to wearing too.

  • I've already informed DH that I want to go to the apple orchard in a few weeks when my fav apples are ready. I already have a pumpkin patch visit on the calendar. We may be going to the covered bridge festival in Indiana this year since we live an hour or less away. I'm also looking forward to the fall consignment sales, first one is tomorrow!

  • I am jonesing (sp?) for a Shipyard Pumpkin head beer. We recently moved from MA to TX and they don't have it here ANYWHERE. If any of you are living in New England, try it! It's amazing. We also used to make "Smashed Pumpkins"- one pumpkinhead beer, one shot Captain Morgan, and one shot Pinnacle Whipped. Omg- to die for!!
  • Hoodies and fuzzy socks and chai (or cider)!!! Oh my.
I want to start a tradition with DS and DD of taking pics in the pumpkins at the local patch every year for our holiday cards.

  • Well, for one it isn't hotter than Hell's waiting room, so that's a plus. I love walking with the wind blowing leaves around. Warm drinks- cider, pumpkin latte, anything... Hoodies and scarves, cuddling down with the fam under a blanket...

  • Weather...the changing of the leaves. Thanksgiving... although I don't need the extra lbs this year! Gingerbread...yum. Baby gets to go to the pumpkin patch with me this year!

  • Chai tea and football are two things I look forward too. I also love fall style- especially the colors: eggplant, gray, maroon, boots, and chunky sweaters.

Now that it's cooler I can't wait to take my guy to the zoo and the pumpkin patch.

  • The fall.... Where do I start.

I hate the fall because it means winter is coming. And I loathe winter even more than fall. It's so depressing...

But if I have to love something, I love pumpkins and Halloween. I love fireplaces and warm tea/cider. I'd say I love long pants and sweats, but I wear those all summer long too so I'm not changing much there. Eh, don't remind me of fall.

  • Lynds Fruit Farm, pumpkin doughnuts at various fall type events and cider. Very excited to take Ava to the apple orchard. She loves being outside.
  • What's not to LOVE about fall?

I live in central North Carolina so we have beautiful leaves, pleasant weather and finally no humidity. So I look forward to football, baking anything, the pumpkin patch, fall mini photo shoot, cuddling, my birthday, my sons birthday, thanksgiving and all the family togetherness that comes this time of year!

  • Everything basically. Cooler weather, sweatpants/hoodies, scarves, pumpkin baked goods, chili in the crockpot, Halloween, decorating for fall (check--done!), our annual family pictures, etc.
  • It doesn't really start cooling down here in Phoenix until October, so our fall is kinda lame and short. Although I am excited to pull out my boots and sweaters.

@babyprigge‌ - DH just bought me a surprise 6 pack of pumpkin beer and this was it! Just took my first sip - it's awesome! Not too spicy, but just enough :)
