Should I move LO?

LO (6 weeks old) will only sleep on my chest for long periods (3 hours or more). Otherwise I can put him in his RNP or PNP and he sleeps maybe 45 min. My mother watched him and was able to put him in his PNP just fine.

Should I maybe move him out of our room into his own? Is it that he can smell me and knows I'm there?

  • I have no recommendations because nothing I did worked when DD1 went through that. I just wanted to say, I've been there, I know how hard it is, and good luck!

  • We used to have this issue, and someone on here suggested a heating pad in the PNP to warm it up before you set them down. That combined with swaddling worked for us. I'm sure you've tried everything, but I thought I would say what helped us through that part. Good luck!
  • I found the only way I can put him down is if he is swaddled and in his swing, other than that he's awaking up when I try to put him down or sleeping like 1 hr as opposed to 3-4 like in his swing.
  • I'd try moving him. Babies can smell milk and the noises we make in our sleep can rouse them. Might as well try it.
