C section scar

I had an emergency c section 7 years ago with my son. I'm currently 6wk1d pregnant with some minor aches in my c section scar. Is this something to be alarmed about? Will the aching go away?

Obviously I know women go on to have multiple pregnancies after c sections buttttt I am embarrassed to say one of my fears is the scar exploding open during my pregnancy. LOL I know, I know.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: C section scar

  • Yes, it was actually one of my first symptoms. I called and asked my OB since my appointment isn't until Monday and they said it's normal!

  • I heard from a friend who is a nurse (so take it with a grain of salt because it is second hand and I'm not a medical practitioner) that this has to do with increased blood flow during pregnancy. Just like itchy skin early on, before the stretching starts.

I've got a scar on my breast and I've noticed it aching and pulling over the last few days.

  • My first pregnancy about a year ago with my daughter resulted in a c section, and I feel like the scar didn't fully heal. It's red and swollen and raised. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant with my second child and I'm nervous about the area stretching and also about having to have a second c section and be cut open there again :/
  • Mine doesn't have numbness or aches but it's been itching me like crazy. Strange! I'm not worried about it though
