FTM....looking for books to read

Hi there as a first time mom I was looking to see if there are any good books out there about baby's first year. Looking for topics around sleep, food, play etc

Re: FTM....looking for books to read

  • I have what to expect in the first year. I'm also finding nursing your baby helpful but a dry read.

  • Beyond the Sling by Miyam Bialik is a great book if you're considering attachment parenting.

  • I really liked "Heading Home with your Newborn: From Birth to Reality."
  • Not first year but this one is great (I'll love you forever)
  • I've read all of @chickenhawke's suggestions and agree -- hilarious and useful! Just wanted to add that, if you ever do choose to sleep train, I adore The Sleepeasy Solution. I've referenced it tons even after sleeping was basically taken care of for us, just for tips on how to deal with timezone changes, travel, etc.

  • Anything called "sippy cups are not for Chardonnay" sounds like my kind of reading! So looking that one up.

  • I really enjoyed The Baby Whisperer books by Traci Hogg. I felt like it really gave us a great foundation as far as what to expect when and some great ideas about how to handle things. We used them a lot with DS and I'll refer back to them with this one too. Love my E.A.S.Y. Method schedule!

  • I bartender at a restaurant sometimes, and before I got knocked up, my friend and I would drink champagne on ice out of Styrofoam cups. We called them sippy cups. We are classy like that. :) I need that book!
