    Last week was no good, with monday being a holiday I decided to be lazy. Tuesday I woke up with an ulcer in my eye and it was very painful. Wednesday LO and I got out for a walk and later I went for a bike ride but that's all I did all week.

    This week is going better. We went for a 40 min walk yesterday and today. Tomorrow I'll go for a bike ride while MIL has LO and hopefully walk thurs and Fri.

    I have in the past. If our hotel has a nice gym and the mood struck I might, but I wouldn't go with a strict agenda in mind.

  • Sorry I have been MIA. Work and A are kicking my butt.

    Good news/bad news in the running front.

    Good news: I am on schedule at 6 miles for my January half. I am getting that run in on Saturdays.

    Bad news: I haven't been able to fit in weekday runs. So right now I am only running one long run a week. I have actually trained for a half like this before when I was working 70-80 hours a week, so it is doable. Just not enjoyable because every run is tough.

    So I guess my goal is to get a weekday run in.

    GTKY: I usually get a run in on vacation. And I have taken vacations that are bike tours, so you ride 25-50 miles per day. Bike Vermont is an amazing company for this.
  • Last week I didn't do much. I was getting over a cold.

    This week I plan to run every other day. I have a race in 3 weeks and I am not ready.

    GTKY: Nope. I usually get enough walking in when we go somewhere. But vacation? I haven't been on one of those since before I was pregnant.

  • How did you fare last week?

    I got some unwanted motivation last week when I was congratulated on expecting (and I'm not...). I did put all 3 kids in childcare at the community center for the first time now that the twins are old enough. It seemed to go well but you have to pay per child so it's pricey. The indoor track is free to use though, so I ran for the first time since May.

    What are your goals this week?

    My goal is to get in at least two runs and one core workout.

    GTKY: Do you workout while on vacation?
    Not usually but I've been more tempted to do so in recent years.

  • I didn't do anything last week, but I am happy to report that DH pulled an 80's style stationary bike out of the basement yesterday that I did some HIIT on for 20 minutes of cardio. I then did some crunches, squats, lunges, push-ups, heel lifts, and jumping jacks too. Today my MIL and I plan on walking later too. I'm finally serious about getting in shape. I plan on doing the bike every other day, and walking everyday, with some strength training 4 days a week. It felt good to finally workout.

    And no I don't workout on vacation. It's a vacation! Plus, I never worked out at all before now lol

    LAST WEEK:  I joined a gym AND signed up with a personal trainer!!  Though, to be honest, I joined the gym mostly as a way to get out of the house (SAHM) and get some me time in and hopefully help with my stress.  Though the personal trainer guy kind of added to my stress -- going on and on about diet (zone-esque) and food log and stuff and he wants me to meed with him 3 times a week.  I know a food log would be great, but not gonna happen right now.  (Not to mention that I'm still doing a lot of stress eating.  :/ )  And meeting with him 3 times a week is too stressful trying to find times when I can meet him and DH can watch the kids.  I figure right now getting to the gym at all is a win.

    GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:  Get to the gym 4 times.  Maybe twice with the trainer and twice on my own?

    GTKY:  No, I don't usually "workout" on vacations, but I'm usually much more active during vacations than my normal life.  We like to go to National Parks (hiking) or even when we go to cities, I feel we usually walk a lot.  Especially when we've gone to Europe - I've lost weight! I joked with DH that we need a European vacation so I can walk off this baby weight.  :)
