Wow! Already?? I thought that was still like months away.. (I might need to pick up that birth to one year book I have laying around). That's awesome! I'm pretty sure DD's will be Dada, she adores him.
I think it's still to early for word association. They are discovering consonant sounds, so there will likely be a lot of mamamama dadadada but not necessarily an association between word and person

Its definitely cute but I don't count first words until they are actually associating the word with the object/person. DS has been saying mama/muma when he cries since he was about a month old...but its not his "first" word yet.

Yeah true first words are still months off. It's fun to hear them make consonant sounds, but it doesn't really count from a developmental standpoint unless it's said in context regularly.
OP if you are curious about this there are a lot if really good child development books out there that might give you a clue as to when to really expect first words and other developmental milestones.
