Sleeping attire

What does your lo sleep in? Now that it is getting cooler I am not sure how to dress her at night. I have been putting a footsie pj on but her feet wake up cold. I have added socks now to. I was thinking of buying a wearable blanket? Anyone have one or recommend something else?

Re: Sleeping attire

  • LO wears a footed sleeper and wearable blanket/sleep sack. We have a muslin one for warmer nights and a cotton one for cooler weather. We have a/c so she's in one every night. In the winter, she'll probably wear a fleece sleep sack. I love the wearable blankets. They keep her warmer and they stop her from putting her legs through the crib slats!

  • We've been doing a long sleeved onesie, pants, sometimes socks, and a thin sleeveless wearable blanket.

  • Will just sleeps in the onesie he wore that day and a sleep sack over it. When it gets cold here he will probably wear footed sleep & plays during the day, and just wear those into the night with a sleep sack over it. I never do specific pjs for babies.
  • Still warm in GA, but he is in footed pj's, will move to onesie under the pj and then once truly cold will add the sleep blanket.  We will of course adjust the thermostat but I'm cheap so I never set it higher than 70 in the winter.  I'll double up his pj's too if necessary- just like I do for me.
  • we live in florida, and its still pretty warm, we have central air that we keep at 78 and keep the ceiling fan on, Lucas wears a onesie and a long sleeve, footed, cotton sleeper in crib with fitted sheet nothing else in the crib, he seems comfortable and not cold. he's also like his daddy and gets hot really easily. once the cooler months hit florida and he's older maybe we will do a fleece footed sleeper or a blanket.

  • On cooler nights (so no AC), we do footed jammies. On warmer nights (so AC on blast), we do a onesie with a fleece sleep sack.

  • Do they make fleece wearable blankets? I have only seen the cotton ones?

  • We usually keep our house between 68-74 degrees, and LO wears either a onesie or footy and a sleep sack. We also have a cold air humidifier in his room. He's on the upper level of our home, so it's usually more than warm enough. We'll see how winters here go, though!

  • We do footed long sleeve sleepers and the halo sleep sack. When it's a little warmer u usually just do a long sleeve onesie and the sleep sack.

    Footed sleeper - cotton.
(Might add a onesie this winter if we find he gets cold)
We layer blankets depending on actual temperature each night.
Usually a light blanket and light quilt.
There is another blanket on the edge of his bed if its cool.

DS1 wears a footed sleeper usually (sometimes 2 piece pjs).
He has a blanket that he covers up with when he goes to bed, but it doesn't stay on him long.

    Edit: typo
  • Long sleeved T/onesie and a sleep sack.  We keep our air on 70-72.

  • Right now she sleeps in either a cotton or fleece footy jams, depending on how cool or warm our house is.  She often wakes up with colds hands or feet, but even when I put socks on her under her jams and mittens on her hands, they're still cold.  She sleeps just fine, so I don't think it bothers her.  I try not to overdress her though because unlike blankets, she cannot kick off the warmer clothes if she gets too hot.  Plus I've read that for SIDS prevention, dressing them cooler is better than dressing them warmer.

As fall and winter sets in, she'll likely sleep in fleece footy jams rather than cotton ones, and if I think she's too cold we'll use either a cotton sleep sack or a fleece sleep sack depending on the temp (would probably do cotton jams if using a fleece sleep sack and fleece jams and a cotton sleep sack)

  • Long sleeved or short sleeved onesie with a muslin sleepsack over it right now. Her nursery is usually 70-75 although I've seen it creep up to 77 at times before I turned up the AC (that room seems to have bad temp control >.<). When it gets colder maybe we'll change to something warmer but for now she seems good.

    Edit: mobile fail.

LO sleeps in a simple cotton onesie under a crocheted blanket or two, depending on how cool it is. I figure the crochet blankets are full of big holes, so he'll be fine. He usually kicks them off anyway. He also sleeps with my old pregnancy pillow above him to keep him from whacking the crib, plus I used to use it as a border to keep him from rolling off the bed when we used to bed share, so he kind of won't sleep without it now. He likes to feel it on the top of his head. I know I shouldn't. I know we're gonna have to remove it, probably sooner rather than later since he's back to waking up 3 times a night anyway... Flame away.
  • @kelley72‌ I'm in GA too! What part are you from?
  • right now the house is right about 74. LO is way too active at night now for sleep sacks of any sort, so we do a long-sleeve onesie with fleece pants (colder days) or cotton pants (warmer days) and socks.

I have some fleece pants that are way too long on him but they are awesome because I can put LO to bed without socks. the pants keep his feet warm but let them 'air out' since they get sweaty!

Once it gets a bit colder, we usually leave the heat at about 64....probably going to do 67 or 68 now with lo. he will be in either a sweatshirt/sweatpants with socks and maybe some soft slipper-type socks to sleep, or fleece pj's. I have already picked up some really heavy warm fleece one-pieces from the carter's outlet by us.

I gotta say, Walmart had some nice, thick, inexpensive sweatpants for lo. like, $3.88 regular price I think? just crazy cheap. and since for us pjs=everyday clothes and mommyistootiredtoplanoutfits, winner winner chicken dinner. I imagine they will come out with a lot more stuff as the season goes on.

aaaaaaaaand I just saw this while looking at carters trying to find what I have in fleece. https://www.carters.com/carters-baby-neutral-one-pieces/V_115A231.html?dwvar_V__115A231_size=3M&cgid=carters-baby-neutral-one-pieces&dwvar_V__115A231_color=Color   excited for x-mas now. thanks tb. I haven't even gotten to Halloween yet!

  • J sleeps in just a onesie. He sleeps with a thin receiving blanket that he likes to cuddle with, but that usually ends up shoved in a corner. If it's going to be cooler he wears cotton footie pjs, and in winter we will switch to fleece. The upstairs of our house is a furnace in the winter though, so we may not have to.

  • Lo has been sleeping in a cortton onesie with socks underneath. I am trying out my fleece halo over that tonight. Our house has the heat set to come on at 69 but we would technically like to lower that a little down to 66 this winter. I just bought a wearable blanket to try as I am concerned about her arms getting to cold sticking out of the halo sack. She also now sits up and crawls so I'm wondering if a sack might get in her way. The pedi today said she should be fine with blankets this winter since she has such good motor skills.
  • Long-sleeve Halo shirt (it's like a long-sleeve onesie, but sweat-wicking material) and then a wearable blanket over that (like Halo Sleepsack)
