FTM What to do??

Gosh...I so do not know what to do! My daughter is 3 days old and my milk has only come in on my right breast. What do I do to help my left breast come in? What do I do so I do not get milk all over myself? I was only feeding her 10 min each side with the colostrum...what now with the milk? Arghh..

Re: FTM What to do??

  • Yep...nurse both sides anyway, and maybe start with the left since she is hungry and this will help the milk come in

  • Thank you all! I am just overwhelmed by it. If she doesnt get enough or a good feed in...she is a mess. I also wantvto ask....how do you take care of your breasts? I understand how to use breast pads, but what about breast cream? When and how do you use it? Are there other products I should be aware of to use to help care for them?
  • My babies use disposable diapers as diapers, but I use cloth diapers to catch milk and spit up messes. Tuck one under your boob to catch the leakage when you feed.

  • You really don't need to use anything on your boobs. If they are uncomfortable, you can use the lanolin, but beware that it will stain your clothes. Use the disposable breast pads to save your nursing bras from grease type stains. Like PP said, I also have a dud and a stud. My right has always produced more than my left with all 3 of my kids. I just always feed on both sides each feeding and it isn't an issue. GL!
