This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester.
You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited
farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks.
I'm still quite busy
this week, so please pardon the late posting and the lack of personal
updates. I should be getting my life back after tomorrow and have more time starting next week, so I will try to resume the personal notes. But please stop on by and tell us all how you're doing!
If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include your EDD.
- How far along are you this week?
- Any appointments or other updates?
Also, please let me know if I have your “team” listed correctly or if it needs to be updated.
QOTW: It's September, which means television series are coming back soon! Which ones are you looking forward to most?
***Graduating to the 3rd Tri next week!!! Good Luck***

Re: ~*~ 2nd Tri Check-in (9/9) ~*~
So last Wednesday, I had to drive 2 hours there, teach for 4 hours, then drive 2 hours home. Got home around 11pm, then got in my car at 7am on Thursday and drove 8.5 hours to go to a friend's wedding this weekend. After a fabulous and busy weekend, I drove back on Sunday another 8.5 hours. Then on Monday (yesterday) I had to prep for class again, drive 2 hours, teach 4 hours, then drive 2 hours back again, arriving at home around 11pm. Tonight I'm proctoring a test 1 hour from my house, so a little easier - no prep and half the drive time. But I still will have to leave about 3:30pm and won't be home until 10pm! Tomorrow I teach another class, so another 3 hours of prep, 2 hours of driving, 4 hours of teaching, and 2 hours of driving home. Wooot woot! Then Thursday I get to SLEEEEEP!
DH made a disaster of the house while I was gone over the weekend - he has trial this week (lawyer), so he worked through the weekend. The kitchen was outright disgusting, and I didn't have time to clean it yesterday, and we had zero food. I mean like nothing. So today I had to do dishes, clean the kitchen, and grocery shopping in addition to everything else.
Tired just reading it all, huh? Yeah, me too. After tomorrow's class, I teach again on Saturday, but then after that it's just once a week through mid-October which is much more reasonable. Just have to get through the rest of this week!
Baby's doing fine. I've been insanely lucky with this pregnancy - I feel good, look good, generally enjoying being pregnant.
Our next appointment is next Thursday, I think, which is exciting! I am 22w along today, so almost to v-day!
My shower is later this month, and gifts are already being purchased off my registry. Because I'm flying to my shower, many people are choosing to buy on Amazon and have them shipped here and just present me with a picture of the gift at the shower - DH is hiding all incoming packages in the nursery and I'm not allowed in for the next few weeks. Curiosity is going to kill me!
QOTW: I'm a Grays Anatomy fan, so excited for that! Also for Scandal - love me some Shonda Rhimes! Modern Family is good, too. Just in general looking forward to having some new shows to freshen up our Hulu and Netflix routine - it gets a bit stale by the end of the summer!

26 weeks, no updates. I get to see my regular doc at my next appointment so that is exciting! She's been my gyno for 9 years...right now we are rotating to meet all the doctors but it will be fun to check in with her.
QOTW: we don't watch a lot of tv, but Boardwalk Empire is probably my favorite upcoming show. Also that new show "how to get away with murder" looks good. And I love batman, so I hope Gotham is good.

17w1d over here. Feeling pretty good, just chugging along.
My mom came up last week with her BF to help paint our fence. She took me to PBKs & we ordered the crib. Eek! I was super excited. I realize it's early, but she doesn't get to come visit all that often bcshe helps my brother with his kids every other weekend. We also got most of the bedding, the mattress & an adorable pillow. And one of our friends mailed us our mobile as an early congrats gift. It just came today & it totally made my afternoon
As for tv, we are pretty lame. There's nothing I am really excited to watch.
I will be 23 weeks tomorrow! I just had an appointment this past Monday and we listened to baby's heart beat via doppler. They gave me a list of local classes (but we are already signed up) and got my yummy drink for the GD test. I'll be testing next week at 24 weeks because of family history of GD. Really hoping and praying I don't have it, if I do, she said breastfeeding reduces chances of developing diabetes by 50%!
Haven't done much baby stuff since school started, I'm taking pathophysiology this semester and have an exam every single week (except Thanksgiving...woohoo!). PGD may be on my exam this week, we are studying genetics :P
Hubby is now negotiating with dealers to buy our family car. Can't wait to get the car ordered
And my work scrubs are starting to get tight, was asked by a patient's mom if I was pregnant, I should have said no to see her reaction lol. So I went out and increased my maternity wardrobe from 2 shirts to 5 shirts (got 3 shirts off Target clearance rack for 8 bucks and under) and a pair of jeans for 17.00. Really trying to get by in my regular clothes, I'm cheap when it comes to clothes! Think I'll start wearing them to work and wear a scrub jacket over it. Maternity scrub tops seems like it might not be worth it, I could at least reuse the jackets!
QOTW: Walking Dead, Homeland, Scandal...I love tv
Me: 30, DH: 32
My hx: uterus/hormones normal Dx: low AMH 0.5 = poor ovarian reserve
hubby hx: low sperm count, poor motility, started on clomid, retest in May showed no improvement, will be on clomid another 3 months, another retest scheduled for August
Started IVF #1: ~BFP Mentioned~
I’m 24wks 1 day today and nothing new to report. I don’t have any upcoming appointments for 2 weeks. Just trying to relax and take it day by day
QOTW: I only tend to get into HBO and Showtime series so with the Leftovers done and this season Masters of Sex close to the finale the only think starting up for me is Boardwalk Empire
QOTW: This will be long as I'm a bit of a tv-holic!
I'm pretty sure that's not everything and that I won't have time for all this when baby comes but until then this will deff pass the time!
*May Siggy Challenge - Parenting Fails*

@dp21 thanks for the suggestions but yea I mentioned shorter shifts but I think starting now I'm on bed rest, I had I know three or four contractions tonight and have lower back pain and mentral like crampy feeling, my brother who is a PA and his wife lost twins at 21weeks so he ordered me to stay in the bed and not move for two weeks at least.I'm going to call the on call dr and see what they think as soon as my parents get here but they are two hours away and DH is at work 45 mins away. But I really think my director could have found things for me to do she just didn't want to fit it in to her schedule or budget. She pretty much screwed me but when I go back I'm def going to one of the icu's because i HATED floor nursing. And yea I'm a new nurse with just 8mo experience. But it still seems like my director would have looked out for me a little better.
