Ok, so I never thought to ask about this with C when she was on formula, but it's sticking in my mind with Charlie. When I make a six ounce bottle, I use six ounces of water. But that plus the powder makes almost 7 ounces of actual formula that my child is eating...so is that a six ounce bottle or a seven ounce bottle? How do you measure? I'm sure it will be different if you pre-mix all your formula at the start of each day in a picture, or if you use ready to use.

six ounces of water plus powder equals 6 ounce bottle, regardless of actual volume post-mixing
six ounces of water plus powder equals about 7 ounce bottle, I take the actual volume into consideration
I pre-mix, so LO gets six ounces of formula in a six ounce bottle
I use ready to feed, so LO gets six ounces of formula in a six ounce bottle
six ounces of water plus powder plus the whole bottle equals a 12 ounce bottle, my Velociraptor gets hungry
SS and or I EBF but want to see results.
Re: Formula Measuring
@Cherylwang if you premix formula you have to refrigerate it. whether you want to heat it up every time you pour a bottle is up to you and LO. I get my boys used to drinking it straight from the fridge because it's easier for us and they don't really care. some babies are picky though and want it heated up or at least room temp.
edit because I have no idea how I came up with those ounces lol

Stella is 10 weeks and eats around 30 oz/day I think? I've never actually tracked it but that's just my guess.
I pre-mix on the weekends but during the week my Mom prefers to make bottle as needed. I voted for the first option.
I've never tried to give him a bottle straight from the fridge because I figured it'd give him a tummy ache. Is this something many of you do? I usually do room temp or heated.
AJ eats between 28-32 oz per day. He will be 15 weeks on Friday. (Is it bad I just had to look at a calendar and count that up? I've been saying he's X months or X 1/2 because most people have trouble converting weeks to months)
@CrysW08 my LO eats an avg of 20 oz daily too. Although I have no idea what he weighs now, he's 15 weeks today. I was concerned I was under feeding him so gave him 4 oz bottles of BM, and he downed 3 oz and finished the last 1 oz @ the following feeding. He seems full and content so I don't force more ounces into him.
