Nursing tops?

Hi mamas, wondering how practical nursing tops are if tandem feeding?  Do they just seem to get in the way or are they practical?  Any favorite brands? TIA!

Re: Nursing tops?

  • Absolutely essential in my world. I find it much more convenient to just unclip and pop them out, rather than hiking up my shirt which tends to bunch up and annoy me, and then deal with a nursing bra too. And you will need to wear a nursing bra or tank rather than just wearing a t-shirt because you'll need the nipple coverage and support for those big nursing boobs!

I just got mine at target. They're nothing fancy and weren't super expensive.

  • Thanks, ladies!  What about the tops that don't clip at the straps?  Anyone have use for those?

They're worthless if you plan on tandem feeding bc they work best if you only need one boob out.

Clips on the straps are the only way to go, IMO.

I preferred nursing tanks over bras at home so I could just unclip both boobs. If you've got a bra on w a tank or shirt over it, you've gotta take that shirt all the way up or down to get access to both boobs.

I also have small boobs, so support was never an issue (I'm barely a C when nursing, small B when not nursing)

  • Rumina and GlamourMama are my fav (but pricey). I wear a tank under everything.

  • My favorites ended up being strapless tops, with a light sweater or something if needed.  Pull the whole thing down, easy access!!!

  • I hate to admit it but I'm still wearing my nursing tanks and I stopped nursing about 4 months ago. They are just super comfy and actually give support, unlike most shelf bra shirts.

Funny story, one of my girls was playing in my clean laundry. She likes to try on my shirts. (She's 2). She grabbed one of the nursing tanks and started snapping and unsnapping and saying "nurse" while she did it. I never thought she would have a correlation with the snaps or would remember after we stopped nursing so long ago.

  • @Lyndsey13 Do you know what brand your tops are?  A lot of reviews I've read complain about no support so I'd love to get good ones!
  • @ktibbits1 Of course, I get asked the one day I don't wear one. I know I've gotten some from Target and some from Walmart. The Walmart ones are my favorite, believe it or not. I'll look tonight and let you know what brand they are.

  • @ktibbits1 This is what I have https://www.walmart.com/ip/Loving-Moments-Maternity-Nursing-Cami/28339271 They don't have a lot of coverage, if you look a like a milk cow like I did, but they have a lot of support. For me, they seemed to run big. If I wanted to put them under another shirt I needed a small and I would usually buy a medium or even large. Hope that helps some!
