Baby Showers

FB invite question

I got a shower invite via FB (I'm not judging that part even though I'm not a fan). Without being able to refer to an envelope, how am I supposed to figure out who's invited? I was assuming that it was just me, but her husband is on the "accepted" list, so I'm now wondering if it's coed.

Re: FB invite question

  • You should be able to see who's invited, even non-friends, from a computer. If not, you'll have to call the hostess, and hopefully that will let her know she may need to update.

  • Just like a paper invite, or a verbal one, or an e-vite, whoever is invited is invited. So if your husband didn't get his own facebook invite, he shouldn't plan to go. Now we all know people become notoriously stupid and forget their manners when using facebook, so I'm sure there's a chance your friend meant to include spouses, but since she actually didn't, then hey, your hubby just got off the hook easy, right??

  • I would go with not invited since he didn't get an invite himself (or a shout out in your inbox - "hey, bring DH!"). That's great since any man I've ever talked to would sooner do almost anything else than attend a baby shower.

  • I think since the whole thing is so informal, give the hostess a ring and ask.
