2 more days for me and FET. I have an appt in the morning for lining check and blood work and I'll get the exact time for transfer tomorrow. Right now just rocking along on PIO, estrace, and vivelle patches.

QOTW: The reason I asked this was because Sunday we were at a friends and discussing the upcoming transfer. Every time my husband or my friends mention "the future baby" I corrected them. I kept saying don't put the cart before the horse. I have to first get through the thawing and there is still about a 5% chance something could go wrong, and my dr is giving me a 50% chance of getting pregnant. Of course they all told me I need to think positive. On our way home I LOST it with my husband because I'm tired of people telling me how I should feel and how I should be optimistic. Yes my friend did try for 6 years and took 2 cycles of clomid but I'm sorry this doesn't make you know what I'm going through right now. Of course my husband said "I have a horse in the race too and he thinks I should quit looking at the negative" I'm on a ton of medicine and very emotional and I let him have it. Yeah he may have a "horse in this race" but it's my body I've been putting through hell all year long, all he had to do was jerk off in a cup. These hormones are screwing up everything in my body that I'm basically confined to my house a lot and he gets to go on through life as normal. It's my ass that hurts to sit thanks to the PIO and I'm draining blue shit out of my vag and have patches all over my abdomen.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have to try to prepare myself for the worst and hope for the best, that's the only way I know how to do it. I think I'm going to quit talking to anyone from now until beta, I'm tired of hearing it.

That's exactly how I am @buttmonkey34 Secretly I'm positive on the inside but I can't say it out loud because I'll jinx it. I don't think there is anything that can prepare you for it not to work but this is the only way I can go about my day. I think we are the only people that "get each other".

I'm keeping my FX for lots of awesome eggs for you!!!

Today is my first day of BCP. Approximately one month until ER.

QOTW: I am mixed, as everyone else has mentioned. I am somewhat optimistic because the chance of success at my clinic is >50% in my demographic, but I do not want to get my hopes up and have them pulverized if it doesn't work the first time. I do *not* want other people talking about my future kids. I only mention it if I am in a good mood, and usually it is accompanied by "if this works."

I'm PUPO!! We had 12 fertilize, and today on day 5 we had 6 high quality blasts and the other 6 are about a day behind.. None have arrested yet, and the dr said he hasn't seen results like that in a long time. I'll get a call tomorrow with how many of those last 6 make it. But as of today, they put 2 back in me and froze 4. And now, we wait....

QOTW: I think I've been very pessimistic. Probably just afraid to be disappointed. A few (non-IF real life) friends were giving me a hard time for being so negative. And even my acupuncturist tried to tell me to think more positively. At this point it's easier to expect the worse. Even this morning I thought... Nothing has worked so far. Why will this?

@tweetyknicks‌ I think that's why they kept saying I was being negative is because the whole afternoon when someone made a comment about future kids I said "if it works". Fuck, my husband was making a list of extra things we are going to need for our beach trip next July because were going to have a baby. I just commented that let's get through the thaw first, there is a 5% chance they won't even survive.

I understand perfectly @AlaskaDee23‌. In my above example I'm just being realistic. It's true first they have to thaw, that's not being negative, just stating the facts.

***Grad lurking - siggy warning***

I am naturally a pessimistic person, and it's been working out for me just fine (at life in general, not just talking about IF). I got so annoyed when I would tell people I was doing IVF and they would say "congratulations!!". At one point, I was telling a friend of the possible vacation we may take if IVF didn't work out (I also noted our other mini vacay we would do if it did), and I was told I wasn't allowed to say comments like that and then lectured on my negativity.

After all the shit we have to deal with for this, no one has any right to tell us how to feel. Maybe I censor what comments I say out loud to some people, but that's about it.

@NariaDreaming‌ good luck at your appt. I seriously LOL at you popping the cherry on August 15 BMB. Has anyone introduced themselves???? I haven't looked on a board yet, I was on 4 in 2014, and now I'm scared to look anymore. I did figure out my EDD. Then again I figured that out every CD1.

Hey guys!

I had ER today, and it was a bit rougher than I expected. The anesthesia was bad for me and I got really sick and sweaty. We got 19 eggs though! I feel good about that number! But after a nap, I'm feeling crampy and constipated (I think? I've never been constipated before!) sent DH for a stool softener and Chinese food.

Qotw: I go through fazes. I have little freak outs where I worry if it will happen for us and how much we'll have to put into it to get there. But, other times I feel really positive about it working out! It's a (hormonal) roller coaster.

@meld42‌ - I had the same problem post-ER, making my husband run out for stuff. The RE told me it was going to be normal and almost expected with all the drugs. But 19 eggs is great! Congrats and rest up!

AFM- still chugging along on lupron, but I get to drop my dosage tomorrow (Bye bye migraine!)and start estrogen.

QOTW - last cycle I was super optimistic and I think it made the bfn even harder, so I've taken a more realistic/slightly pessimistic view this cycle. Of course I'm still hoping to have kids, but I have noticed that I've gone from when we have kids to if we have kids and find myself correcting our parents.

@Pintobean39‌ I know what you mean. I try not to be too pessimistic but I also want to be realistic and not get my hopes up. My birthday last month was the day after ET and all these people who posted on my FB said things like "This year will be amazing for you!!" And "I'm so excited because you will have what you were hoping for this year" etc etc and they were alluding to the baby thing of course because I had recently posted about going through IVF... And I'm thinking do they seriously think IVF is a guarantee?? There is no way anyone could possibly know that this year will be good or even not a horrible year for me in that way. Even on the IVF post itself I commented after a bunch of people said overly hopeful things that we only had a 50% chance so were trying to be realistic. I guess that's the one and only positive of my IVF not working... That once they figure it out (since I didn't post on FB) they will realize that it is not, in fact, a guarantee.

@meld42 stool softeners are a must!!! Between all the meds that they give you and then the progesterone it makes everything slow down. Yeah, on the 19 eggs that's awesome!!! FX for awesome fertility reports.

@jessimi06‌ woohoo for getting to drop the lupron dosage.

@jencity9‌ it's true everyone seems to think IVF just works, like it's a 100% guarantee. I'm 40 years old and I think my chances are around 35% but my Dr thinks mine are higher, close to 50%, only because my embryos are genetically normal. It doesn't matter if you tell them that or not they don't seem to listen. Also people aren't really vocal when a IVF fails you only hear the success stories. I hear ppl telling me all the time my RE got Tom Dick and Harry preg they just don't know who he didn't.

Thanks for all the warm wishes everyone! Here's my long update (TLDR: 8 eggs, recovery is hard) I had my ER this morning. The procedure wasn't that bad, but the recovery has been harder than I thought. I felt exhausted and had to rest in the recovery room for 1.5 hours (blood pressure was low and I was dizzy on standing) during which I ate 1/4 of a bagel that my spouse went and bought me, plus a juice box. I was determined to go home after that. Unfortunately, I was being too ambitious, and I could barely make it 10 feet without a rest break. However, I was being stubborn and didn't want to go backtrack to the recovery room just to keep sitting there. I made it all the way outside and then lay down on the sidewalk (yep) while my spouse went to get the car. The clinic is in a fancy office/condo tower and the security guard came over to me immediately, wanting to get me out of there. I promptly threw up, barely missing his shoes(not my classiest moment). My spouse and the nurse arrived at about the same time, and thankfully they let me go home. I was in a fair amount of pain and a little cranky with my spouse about finding less "bumpy" streets to drive on. Eventually we got home and I slept for several hours. Then I had some chicken noodle soup, which I seem to be tolerating ok. So, some advice for those doing ER for the first time: bring Tylenol and light snacks with you in case you end up stuck at your clinic for a long time. It's probably best not to try to rush yourself in getting home. Entertainment such as an iPod is probably a good idea too. Have some light food and a heating pad ready for when you get home, and don't plan on getting up to anything. So, the big news is I got 8 eggs(!). A really great improvement from where I stood on day 7 of stims with only 2 in the mature territory. Probably not all of them will be good, because we let at least 2 get overmature hoping that some little ones would catch up. I'm trying not to obsess until my fert report tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stay optimistic. Good luck to all!

AFM ...... The long awaiting FET is tomorrow. My lining is 15 and progesterone is 68. FX they thaw beautifully.

Welp, it's officially beginning. I called today to begin IVF #1. I have an appointment on Friday to sign all the paperwork, blood work, ultrasound and hubby's newest semen analysis. Then begins BC for the month. I try to be optimistic but rational. I try not to let myself think about a baby until I get that positive pee stick.

09/12/14: Update when to the doctor's office and had blood drawn and ultrasound. Walked through the next steps and then realized I can't start this month. I calculated the dates wrong and I would be on bed rest on one of my busiest event days (I'm an event planner). So we get one more month for a miracle before we start IVF in mid October.

I forgot to post over here earlier today when I got my fert report! In my defense, the bump on mobile is weird and I often never know where I am

We ended up getting 26 eggs!!! I definitely feel the effects. 21 were mature and all were ICSI'ed. 9 fertilized. I was initially disappointed, as I thought we could expect about 70% to fertilize. We're hoping enough will make it to day 5 to have a few left over to freeze!
