Re: ***Tuesday Ticker Change Check-in***

  • Good morning!  Hope that everyone is having a good week so far.  I really like posting this check-in and have loved getting to know everyone, but I'm thinking that it might be time to find a new check-in leader to take over at the end of this month or early October.  I want to make sure that everything is set up just in case I go early, wouldn't want to leave you ladies hanging!!  Any volunteers?

@MrsTuna08 How's the heart burn, hopefully still improved?  Mine is terrible some days and barely noticeable others.

@megbmeg How's the PGAL brain this week?  I still can't help but thing sometimes that there's a complication waiting around the corner.

@luciddreamer106 So how was the A/S??  Still team green?  :-)

@GrailSeeker14 How was your OB appointment?

@Bonnesetter27 I just stalked you a bit and it looks like you're being induced today- lots of luck and easy labor vibes!!!

@haleyusf How's the pain this week?  I hope you're feeling better.

@meagpt22 Sorry you had to work over the weekend, hope you had a nice relaxing day off yesterday.

@SamanthaLaura16 Are you feeling any more movement this week?  I think that I started feeling movement around 19-21 weeks, and it started out slow but after the first week or 2 it was all of the time.

@Keberly91 Congrats on a great A/S and a healthy boy!!

@Birch113 Thanks for all of the well wishes re- Roxy, she goes tomorrow to have her stitches out and will be so happy to be able to play again!  Your transfer starts next week right?

How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  32 weeks, squash

How are you feeling?  Really good this week!

Favorite moment of the week?  All weekend!  I had my shower on Saturday and it was so much fun!  I felt so happy and grateful to have family and friends there to celebrate the baby, my mom and sister did a great job hosting, and everyone was so generous.  We started TTC 3 years ago this month, not as long as some, but there were definitely times when I thought it wouldn't happen.  I've been floating along on a happy cloud since Saturday, and I keep thinking that I can't believe I'm close enough to having a real, live baby that I actually just had a baby shower!  One of my BFFs came on Friday from out of state for the shower and then on Sunday I went wedding dress shopping with my sister, so it was a long weekend of fun!

Least favorite moment of the week?  Going back to work yesterday.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  My feet are starting to swell a little, that's new.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I had a sad moment Saturday morning before the shower thinking about how I never got the chance to celebrate our 1st pregnancy.  But I'm so grateful to have the opportunity with this baby.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  No milestones until next month (our 1st loss date), next check-up appointment is Thursday.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?  2 favorites, feeling and seeing the baby move, and how friendly and nice people/strangers are!  Least favorite has definitely been the digestive stuff (heartburn, constipation, other intestinal upset, etc).

  • @rox825 My heartburn is just like yours, awful some days, non-existent on others.  I have Prevacid, but I still haven't taken it.  Any meds make me jumpy while pregnant and so far the heartburn hasn't been as bad as it was that week when I asked for the prescription.  I also think I've able to tune into foods that make it worse; so maybe avoiding those foods is helping?

How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?

    29 weeks, acorn squash

    How are you feeling?

Still feeling pretty good.  I tire easily, but all things considered I'm pretty good.  I can still get up off from the floor unassisted, so I count that as a win!

    Favorite moment of the week?

The upside of GD is extra growth scans.  I got a surprise u/s at my appointment yesterday and it was magical.  She is just gorgeous.  I got to watch her practice breathing!  She was 3lb 0oz which puts us in the 57th percentile.  According to the doctor it was a beautiful and boring u/s.  Yay!

Least favorite moment of the week?

I woke up from a nap yesterday to find a strange man taking surveyor measurements in my back yard.  I politely asked him wth he was doing in my yard and he told me that he was taking measurements for the closing.  Um, say what?  We rent this house and nobody let us know about it being sold, so I was pretty angry.  I told him he was probably mistaken.  He said no, he had just done 3 other houses for our property group.  Long story short, our house is NOT being sold.  That guy was either very confused or a criminal.  So if I see him again on the property I have been advised to call the police.  I really just hope he was confused.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?

Hanging steady.  Feeling pretty good for now.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?

Feeling very good after yesterday.  3lb feels like a solid number to me.  I'm starting to calm down about preterm labor.  Also she is moving a LOT so that helps me.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?

Next week I'll be in the 30's!

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?
Favorite: Feeling her move is the best!  Also ramping up the getting ready for her has been a lot of fun.  It is really satisfying to have some of the big things done.
Least Favorite: The first trimester was not a lot of fun for me.  I felt like I always had a hangover and the constant terror of losing this baby made those first weeks so very long and not at all enjoyable.

    How are you feeling?

Wonderful. I've been feeling her more and more every week.

    Favorite moment of the week?

We sent a reveal picture to my family this week and we bought a travel system for $75 after a coupon and a mail in rebate!

Least favorite moment of the week?

My A/s on Thursday cause you had to go in with a full bladder.... it was awful

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?

Heartburn a lot and aching feet and back but it's all worth it.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?

As long as she is moving I am good I've passed my milestone this week! I'm so happy this is my rainbow.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  I have a 22 week appointment next Monday. That will make me feel even better.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?

The fear is my least favorite! The movement is my favorite thing.
  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  20 weeks!  Banana

How are you feeling?  I think I have an ear infection?  I haven't had one since I was like 3 years old but I called my OB and they want to me to see my GP because they think I might have one.  Kind of weird.  I have that appointment later today.

Favorite moment of the week?  Finally felt LO move!  5 precious little kicks Sunday night when I was laying in bed.  Just amazing!

Least favorite moment of the week?  XXX

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Heartburn is finally under control, so long as I take my Zantac twice a day.  And I don't know if the potential ear infection counts as a symptom, but it's certainly uncomfortable.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  So much better since feeling movement Sunday night!

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  I have my anatomy scan next Monday.  Seriously can not wait!

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?
Least favorite: First trimester discomfort, combined with the anxiety of being PgAL, was pretty miserable.
Favorite:   Finally feeling that kick.  Can't wait to feel it more and more!

    27 weeks, rutabaga or eggplant

How are you feeling? Ok, overall. Tired but hanging in there.

Favorite moment of the week? DH got to feel LO moving around from the outside. :) And I got to hold my neighbor's sweet 6 day old daughter yesterday.

Least favorite moment of the week? By Friday afternoon, I had really run out of steam. I was so tired I found myself trying to nap while I washed my hands!!
Ew, and the dang glucose test. Pretty nauseating.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?
About the same but not too bad right now.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?
I'm doing okay. LO is very busy and that's reassuring.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?
I had my glucose test over the weekend, so just waiting for my results. I hate looking at my patient portal to check because it also still lists all my old, more depressing loss appointments.

~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~* I may have already done this one, can't remember! What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?

Least favorite: definitely pgal fear and all the barfing.
Most favorite: love love seeing LO on an u/s, love sharing things with DH like when he first felt her move

ETA: fixing all my mobile mispellings, and I forgot to say, 3rd trimester this week!! Woohoo! Here is my new favorite GIF to celebrate:

How are you feeling?  Hip pain is still there, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. My rheumatologist said she could do local steroid shots after I take my GTT next week. Sweet relief is in sight!

Favorite moment of the week?  Had a great weekend; Fri/Sat were full of baby-related sewing projects and then Sunday we went to a Celtic Festival, a fabulous taco restaurant, and a rock concert! Exhausting, but definitely fun!

Least favorite moment of the week?  Can't really think of one? Guess that's a good sign...

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Baby is definitely getting lower and it's putting lots of pressure on my pelvis. Also, nips are back to hurting, which I'm guessing is due to the intermittent leakage.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  Doing okay.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  Next Thursday is the GTT, so that will be fun (not) and my first cervical check. Fingers crossed for no progress!

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far?  Favorite has been sharing the experience with my SO. My son's pregnancy was during the beginning of a rocky period in my marriage to my ex that eventually led to us separating, so it's been nice to have an involved partner. Least favorite has been having to curb my activity level b/c of high risk status.

  • @rox825 -- so glad you had a blast at your baby shower!

@MrsTuna08 -- how crazy about the guy in your backyard. Maybe he had the wrong address? Weird!

@Elysa15 -- congrats on passing your loss milestone!

@larahouseman -- yay for baby kicks!

@megbmeg -- a great vitamin for fatigue is B12; they make chewable tabs that can really give you a natural energy boost. Most adults are at least somewhat deficient, and any excess gets peed out, so no risk of overdosing.

    @GrailSeeker14 -- so happy you had a great u/s!

  • @MrsTuna08 That's so creepy, I'd definitely be on the lookout for that guy just in case, hopefully it was just a mistake!

@Elysa15 Congrats on passing your milestone, and the great travel system deal!

@larahouseman I had a random ear infection a few years ago after not having one since childhood either, it was so weird!  Yay for movement!!

@megbmeg Congrats on 3rd tri!  I love that gif, so cute.  Hope the glucose results come back OK.

@GrailSeeker14 Congrats on a great US!  I remember the 2 week wait between appointments used to feel like forever.

@haleyusf Glad that you have some pain relief in sight.  I've been carrying low all along but over the past several weeks I've definitely felt more downward pressure.  I feel like I have to pee 24/7 standing up, but when I sit down or lay back it goes away!

  • Random ear infection update: So...it turns out that the main problem is actually ear wax!  I have a bit of a cold and that's got some water in my ear drum, but apparently I wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't had so much freaking ear wax in my ear!  Embarrassing...

How are you feeling?  Great! Sleeping with the body pillow is making it so much more comfortable.  I talked to my OB today about the pain I'm having in my hip/low back and he agrees that it's the sacroiliac join that's unstable.  If I stand or walk a lot (particularly while working), it makes it really painful to walk.  He recommended getting a support belt for around my hips, which I will be doing pronto.

Favorite moment of the week?  I have two! We had a great A/S yesterday and were able to stay team green! On Saturday, I could feel some definite kicks/punches from the outside.  I told MH about it and then Baby Dreamer showed off and was punching/kicking for him, too.  It was so fun seeing his expression as the baby was moving all around.

Least favorite moment of the week?  Late afternoon last Tuesday, we got a call from my MIL saying that FIL's cancer is more extensive than they originally thought.  On the bright side, they're moving back near us so he can get a second opinion and likely treatment at the university hospital here.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  My nose and gums bleed more easily now.  It's not uncommon for my nose to bleed a little when I even gently blow my nose.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I'm ok.  I had the EDD for my second loss last week on the 3rd and have another loss anniversary on the 18th of this month.  I'm doing much better than I was a year ago and it's easier since this pregnancy is going well.  Although they aren't forgotten, it's good that the anniversaries are getting easier as time goes on.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  I just had my 20 week appointment this morning, so not another one for another month.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

I may have already done this one, can't remember!  What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far? My favorite things are feeling movement. My least favorite are the yucky symptoms- constipation, back pain, and difficulty sleeping.

@larahouseman Yay for feeling movement! That is so exciting. Sorry to hear about your ear, yuck.

How are you feeling?  Such a loaded question ;)

Favorite moment of the week?  My niece (19 months) running up and running into me; I pick her up, and she just clung to me. All because she was just happy to see me.

Least favorite moment of the week?  Work.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Same ol' all-day-morning sickness.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests? Rough mental moments, but the home doppler helps.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to? Anatomy scan in the morning! I just want to see the little guy, and it's my husband's first u/s this pregnancy.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What have been your favorite and least favorite things about pregnancy so far? Favorite... just being pregnant, really. Watching him grow and listening to the heartbeat when we stopped doing weekly u/s after the first trimester. Least... Loved weekly ultrasounds week 5-12. Then waiting until week 19 for another one. Definite withdrawal.

Least favorite moment of the week?  Sept 5th - Facing the anniversary of my loss date.

@haleyusf It is a rainy day here and your crafting has inspired me to work on my own crafts today!  I have some burp cloths to finish up, the leg on a soaker to finish and I'd like to start working on my mobile!  I'm going to do felt animals too for the mobile, well, lambs - plus stars and a moon :)  What is your mobile theme?  Also you need to pip your project, I'd love to see it!

@Birch113 I certainly know what you mean about the belly getting bigger!  Everything just takes longer and more effort.  Also, I went out shopping the other day and caught a full body side view in one of the store windows - I've moved from "isn't she cute with that bump!" to "oh gosh she looks tired" :/

@luciddreamer106 Congrats on half-baked and your fantastic u/s!!!

@jcar2  We did the elective u/s at 16 weeks too.  It was just too much to handle to go from 12 weeks to 21 weeks without seeing what was going on.  We were able to find out she's a she from that u/s :)

    @meagpt22 34 weeks!  You're getting so close!!!

    @stefani103 I hope your A/S goes well!

@SamanthaLaura16 I'm glad YH came home sooner than expected!! DH travels, but only one week at a time and I just hate it.

  • Hello, Ladies! I've missed you!

Finally made 20 weeks! :-) Bananas

I am feeling "ok, good, fine" mostly... some anxiety. Some heartburn

Fave this week, getting to 20 weeks :-) Also my coworkers being so supportive!

Least fave... My boss is "starting" formal steps to fire me... something that has been in the works since May, I just found out a week and a half ago, they delivered the formal memo a few hours before my a/s.... She's horrid, really the only downside to this job.

Symptoms, my carpal tunnel is worse... hands go numb doing this with my phone, or brushing my hair, or anything :-( And my legs go numb when I've been standing awhile, different nerve than sciatic- grateful its numb and not pain! Heartburn and some cramping when I overexert?

PGAL brain is not too bad, unless I start cramping, still not feeling movement. Sometimes I get a bug in my ear and start to worry a lot, but I can usually put that away and regroup... so far, so good :-) My cervix shortened a little bit from over 6cm to 5cm, I dont think the OB will be concerned... but now I will be thinking I should watch that... and I can't, I have to wait for their concern to catch up to mine :-(

Upcoming appointments: We had our a/s on the 3rd, and they want to see us in 6 weeks. Babies were a little ahead of schedule at 10 oz each then :-), very mobile- so MFM would like to look again when they are bigger, mid OCT. See the OB Friday and leave next Tuesday for Seattle and Denver, as long as everything looks good still :-) We have a shower in Denver, very excited!

GTKY, Favorite thing, being pregnant-with twins!!! Least favorite, symptoms- though still grateful mine have been manageable and not debilitating. .. :-)

I have missed you ladies, and will try to be better with check ins, 1 finger typing makes it hard to tag all, but you have love tits, hugs, and support.... watch for the love tits ;-)

  • @Bigboneded -- so glad your babies look great! If you're concerned about your cervix shortening, definitely bring it up to your doctor. Maybe they can monitor it every other week or something to see if there are any changes. My OB agreed to do an internal exam starting at 28wks b/c of my history with early dilation. Sometimes you never know until you ask.

@SamanthaLaura16 -- glad you're feeling more movement! Nothing calms PGAL brain like a swift kick or two.

@stefani103 -- hope your all day sickness lets up soon.

    @luciddreamer106 -- yay for a great A/S!!!

@Birch113 -- definitely struggling to get off the couch/bed, too! SO has to help me up off the couch at least half the time. With the bed, I find rolling my legs off the edge and then using that momentum to push myself up is about the only way.

@jcar2 -- hope the swelling improves for you soon!

  • @Birch113 Yes I am definitely struggling with movement, lol, sometimes it's not pretty.  I'm sorry that you're struggling with your EDD coming up.  The date that I found out about our MMC is in early Oct and I'm really dreading it already, it's going to be tough.  Sending lots of hugs.

@luciddreamer106 Congrats on the great A/S news!!  I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL though, sending T&P.  And I'm sorry about all of the loss anniversaries and EDDs, they're so hard.

@jcar2 That's awesome that you're feeling movement so early!  I think that I've developed pregnancy carpal tunnel in one of my wrists.

@meagpt22 Wow, when you say 4-7 weeks til you meet the baby, that makes it sound so soon, so exciting!!  I'm feeling like the baby is really low these days too.

@stefani103 How was your A/S??  Can't wait for an update!!

@SamanthaLaura16 I'm sorry about your loss date, sending hugs.  Glad your LO is moving a lot though to reassure you.

@Bigboneded Sorry that your boss is a jerk, that really sucks.  But congrats on a good A/S!

  • @birch113 Oh, no! I hope you’re feeling better today back on the Zofran.  I’m sorry you’re having a hard time with your EDD coming up.  ((hugs)) It’s ok to have mixed feelings.

@jcar2 Awww! I bet it was the baby moving. So exciting!

@meagpt22 I’m sorry you’re so uncomfortable, but you’re so close to the finish line!

@stephani103 I hope the nausea subsides and you can’t get it under control.

@samanthalaura16 I’m glad that you’re feeling better and even starting the registry. To others it may seem like NBD, but to PGAL it’s a huge step.

@bigboneded Try not to worry about not feeling movement yet, especially since you could see their activity on the u/s. I’m sorry to hear about your job, that just sucks.  ((hugs))
