Re: Pregnancy check-in 9/8/14 edition

  • I will be 19 weeks tomorrow!

I am feeling... tired and starting to get more uncomfortable every week.  I am scared for how uncomfortable things are going to get down the road.  I keep reminding myself that it is all temporary!  I have a long way to go so I need to be more positive.

My MFM and OB appointments are next week!

QOTW:  We just announced our pregnancy and that they were twins individually because everyone was spread out.  We did have a big BBQ over labor day and announced that they were boys!

  • I'm 37+2 and am so over it. I have my last appt/preop appt on Friday for my c section on Monday. I just keep telling myself I only have one more week. I had a really bad night last night where I just tossed and trine all night and got no sleep. It was awful, hopefully tonight will not be a repeat of that.
  • I'm 16w and doing ok, I just got over a nasty week long cold.  Had some serious back pain this weekend but it's feeling a bit better today.  I see my OB tomorrow and I'm hoping to book our a/s.

QOTW: I sent the u/s pics to my mom & MIL and called them while they opened the email to explain what they were seeing.  I basically said, "Ok, you see that, well that's the sac and that little dot in the middle is the baby......and then that's the other one!" and waited for that to sink in.  It was kind of funny :)

  • How many weeks along are you? 28+4

How are you feeling? Pretty much like I did at full-term with DS. :p Which makes sense because...

Any doctor appointments, updates or other exciting news? I had an OB appointment this morning and I'm measuring 40 weeks(!). Everything is right on track though. Recent BW came back great and the babies HBs were nice and strong. I have a MFM appointment on Thursday and am excited to see my little guys again. :)

QOTW: How did you tell your family you're expecting twins, or announce their sexes? We shared the news of twins at Easter dinner (immediate family only). We put two Peeps in plastic Easter eggs and passed them around saying there was a treat for after dinner. They opened the eggs (at the same time) and saw a little note that read, "We're welcoming TWO new peeps to the family!" They went crazy -- it was fun. :)

To announce we're having two more boys, we framed and wrapped a pic for my parents and his parents of DS wearing a "Greatest Big Brother" t-shirt and holding two blue balloons. We also posted the pic on FB with the caption, "Planes, trains, trucks and toys...We'll be welcoming two baby boys!" The caption was 'borrowed' from another Nov'14 mama - I'm not that clever (lol). ;)

I'm 27w5d. No dr appts this week. I've been having some heart palpitations so I have to wear a heart monitor for a day or so.

I just called my dad and told him about the twins. We told my mil in person since she lives close.

Edited to fix how far along I am. I guess I lost track. Good thing I get weekly emails.

21 weeks tomorrow! I'm feeling ok at the moment. I'm still in the "eat all the things" phase, but hopefully that will get better...I need to be eating fruit and vegetables...not random crap I find in the freezer section at the grocery store. I had an ultrasound on Sept. 3rd where we found out that we are officially team purple! So excited!!!

QOTW: My mom was with my husband and I at the first ultrasound (I was a nervous wreck and I needed both of my rocks there at the same time!), so my mom knew right away and called to tell my dad. Most immediate family was told through a phone call. We had already told them we were pregnant the week before. We told my brother through sky.pe (he is stationed on an AF base) and held up one photo at a time and said "So, here is your niece or nephew...and here's the other one" He bawled. Its always rewarding to get a tough guy to cry =]

  • 17w3d...

Had our 16 week appt on Thursday and both girls are still looking good. Loved seeing them kick each other. I've been having some pelvic pain/cramping /pressure type pain after sitting too long and then having to walk... Any solutions from you all?!

  • How many weeks along are you? 31 weeks

How are you feeling?  I'm uncomfortable.  I'm having a ton of digestive issues/discomfort lately.  I think the babies are just pushing against everything and slowing things down.

Any doctor appointments, updates or other exciting news?  I have an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday.

QOTW: How did you tell your family you're expecting twins, or announce their sexes? To tell our parents, we made a copy of our ultrasound and wrapped a package of Double Mint gum. We showed them the ultrasound first to see if they noticed anything.  My mom can read me like a book, and realized the ultrasound showed two babies right away.
  • We are 17w2d.  We had our Anatomy Scan today at Duke.  Wow...was exciting.  Feeling OK.  We are happy to announce that we are officially team....BLUE!!!!    We are excited, but I am feeling a little sad about not getting the little girl I dreamed of.  I know I am going to love these two lil boys though!  We have a low lying placenta and will need to be monitored.  SCH is still there...but doesn't seem to be causing any issues or growing.  She said it is just one of those things.  Both babies looked great.  Our 2nd tri. testing all came back great as well.  We are beyond excited.

I will post my QOTW: tomorrow!  I am currently working on that!

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).

9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • 34w4d here. Tired, sore and ready to be done. The babies push up and mess with my stomach and breathing, then they push down and that's no fun either. Had an OB appt today and confirmed c-section day as 9/25 unless they decide to appear early. I measure 45 weeks now, explains a lot! Also got signed up for weekly BPP's until the end starting this Thurs. Next week should be fun- OB on Mon, last MFM appt Tues, BPP Wed. Good thing I'm not working at the moment!

QOTW- We didn't do anything special when we found out about the pregnancy but when we had the first ultrasound we didn't say anything, just passed around the best picture and let everyone figure it out. The looks on their faces were priceless:). Our mothers were the best as they'd gotten texts of pics showing one of the babies to hold them over until we could see them in person. They thought they knew what was going on and were not expecting to see two when we brought the rest of the pics over. I think the only one we had to help was my grandmother- she wasn't paying close attention to the A and B labels in the pic so I finally had to say something like "A looks great and so does B."
  • 32w4d was admitted to the hospital today and looks like we will probably meet or trio on Wed if they can get these contractions to show down. Otherwise it might be tomorrow.
  • @AandStilltrying thanks for doing the twin check in and congrats on being team blue!!

How many weeks along are you? 30w6d

How are you feeling? Tired and ache-y. . . really my hands with ulnar tunnel syndrome, and they don't start to feel normal until the afternoon.

Any Dr. appointments, updates or other exciting news? Next doctor's appt is next week and then I'll start going weekly.

QOTW: How did you tell your family you're expecting twins, or announce their sexes? We told our parents in person as we are at least 4 hrs from each set. We went home to see my parents for Easter & completely surprised them. We put the u/s picture in a picture frame with the quote (parapharsing here) "How can something so small generate so much love." My dad got it right away. . .even the twin part. My mom took like 5 minutes. . .she was turning the frame upside down, got her glasses, tried to get in better light. We facetimed our brothers to let them know and they were all surprised especially with the twin part.

  • 36 weeks! Holy smokes... I cried for the first time yesterday because I was struggling physically, but today is looking better, for now anyway.

We have an appt tomorrow to schedule our RCS (A is breech). I AM SOOOO EXITED!!!

Qotw: How did you tell your family you're expecting twins, or announce their sexes? I actually ended up in the ER with OHSS (my fam knows about IVF) and they drew my blood and my beta was out of control so my mom kind of knew already, but we just called and told them when we knew for sure. No one was very surprised, but they were very happy!

  • I'm 31 weeks as of tomorrow.  I feel tired all the time, doing the smallest task makes me exhausted which isn't good because I feel like I have a ton of cleaning and organizing to do before the babies come!  We have friends who had their singleton yesterday 5 weeks early so that is making my stress go into overdrive I think.  I have an appointment with my OB Thursday, hopefully no surprises!

We called DH's mom after the U/S and once he said that I was there and she was on speaker she guessed right away that we were having twins, I don't know how!  We FaceTimed my parents and sisters that night and showed them the U/S pic and it took them a minute to figure out what they were looking at but then they were excited and both my sisters cried.  On Facebook, DH wrote a post that said, "Awaiting our honeymoon souvenirs, coming in November" with this picture

  • I'm 22 wks tomorrow :)

Feeling "ok". Would be good, except my sacrum/ilium area is in EXCRUCIATING pain! I start PT tomorrow, hoping for some relief , it's getting so bad I can barely walk.

Had our echocardiogram on both babies hearts last week - especially A's as she has a thickened right ventricular wall. And, they both are great! A's wall is indeed "prominent" but, isn't causing blood flow restriction and they have no reason to believe there will be any issues going forward. Phew! HUGE relief!

QOTW: we had family pics done with a cute chalkboard sign & banner I made, then posted online. (Had told family weeks earlier just via in person/phone calls)

How many weeks along are you?
    29 weeks tomorrow!

    How are you feeling?
So tired I can barely function (guessing this has to do with the anemia). Heartburn and indigestion seem to have settled down, so that's good. Last night I had what I thought might be contractions, but they weren't regular and they eventually tapered off. I'm also out of breath a lot of the time (especially when sitting) because the babies like to ride up on my ribcage. I honestly didn't know I could go downhill this fast...and I have so many more weeks to go!

Any Dr. appointments, updates or other exciting news?
The past few weeks have been full of doctor appointments. To sum it up
The good: I don't have GD, my thyroid looks great, my BP is fine, no signs of pre-e, babies are measuring on track and were 2lb 7oz each at 28 weeks.
The bad: I am severely anemic, babies are still breech
Exciting news: The shower my sister is throwing for me is this weekend and I just found out my friend, who lives a few hours away and I haven't seen since right before she had her baby a year ago, is coming! I totally didn't think she'd be able to make it so that was a pleasant surprise.

QOTW: I just texted my close friends and family (the ones who knew we were going through IVF) when we first found out. At 12 weeks, we made a little photo announcement and posted it on Facebook to make it "official." Same with texting close friends/family when we found out the sexes, although DH wanted to announce on FB so he posted a picture of a hot dog and a taco :-)

    How are you feeling?
Not too bad. Slowing down a bit, but otherwise ok.

Any Dr. appointments, updates or other exciting news?
Passed my 3 hr glucose test! Next growth scan and biweekly OB is next Friday. Can't wait to see them!

Qotw: How did you tell your family you're expecting twins, or announce their sexes?

After our u/s at 7w, we called our parents and told them we saw the heartbeats. MIL caught on right away. My mother kept asking if we meant the heart beat multiple times.

At 12w, I spent a weekend with a couple aunts and cousins. One cousin (my MOH) and her mother knew I was pg, but not about the twins. Once everyone got there, they offered me a glass of wine, and once I turned it down they all figured it out. I waited for the excitement to settle, then brought out the u/s pic and handed it to the aunt who knew. She screamed 'TWO???' It was awesome!
