New member hi to all TTC my second child

Hello Everyone,

I am 38 and just started TTC my second LO. I'm not sure of the formatting for posting. I am on 11 DPO and have 2 BFN on my last two tests. Does anyone know if dollar store tests are equivalent to First Response? Will use one of them tomorrow. I am having so many symptoms that it's driving me crazy. Maybe they are all phantom or PMS related, hope not. Thanks for a listening ear and look forward to getting to know all of you!

    Welcome!  Hope you receive a + and happily move to PG+35... if not stick around, lots of supportive, experienced ladies.  The 2ww can be crazy I do not know statistics of hpt's but if you go over to the ttgp board there is a post titled Newbies Read This First, it has great information regarding hpts.  Best wishes!

    From my personal experience, on my BFP cycle I had a squinter on a dollar store test and the same day had a faint but definite line on a FRER.  That was at 11 dpo.

    Welcome! I've seen a link to stats for different tests and their accuracy and based on when you take it PO. Not sure if it was on newbie blog or where but it was interesting (I tried a quick google search but couldn't find it, I'm on mobile and connection is annoying). Good luck!

    Welcome.  Everyone says the dollar store ones are as accurate as regular ones from the day your period is due, assuming you didn't ovulate late.  Good Luck and Welcome to the board.

    Welcome! I had done some research on this same topic a while back. The details are a bit foggy, but I believe the FRER tests require 20ml of the HCG while the dollar store ones require like 40ml, Walmart store brand (they are like 88 cents) require 50ml of the hormone. Now you double the hormone level everyday so if your still getting BFNs, your not pregnant at this time ;(

    3/2014 - TTC #2, return to RE 7/2014
    12/2015: IVF #1 transferred two great looking embryos - BFP!
    First ultrasound: TWO beautiful little heartbeats!!

    August 2015: IVF #3.  14R, 13M, 11F.  Froze 5 blasts for CCS testing.  3 normals.  FET planned for 10/2015.
