My mom keeps my the little guy while I work. She works weekend nights as a nurse so it's pretty awesome. I bring him to her since it's on my way to work anyway and she has way more toys already than I do.
SAHM, still seems weird to say SAHM. I luckily have my old college roommate/BFF here in Colorado now and she is a SAHM and we had an awesome day at the zoo today and I foresee many more fun adventures with our kids.
In home daycare. She was a licensed daycare provider for 20+ years (recently retired) and a family friend of a coworker. She just watches C and my coworkers daughter.
MIL (ugh) will be watching him when I start working a few days a week. DH just said I can wait until November to go back, but he keeps saying that "well since you're not going to be working, I have to work 6 days a week" or some crap, so it seems like maybe I can SAH. I hope so. It sucks that he works so much, but he makes so much more money than I do. Me working would essentially pay for gas to get me there and back and some of my student loan.
I found a wonderful woman to watch DD. She has 5 kids so she SAH. My DD is the only kiddo besides her own she watches. 4 of her kids go to school during the day so DD gets lots of attention.
SAHD but bub will go to daycare a day a week when the paid parental leave runs out. We aren't good at the budget lifestyle!
We looked at family day care (4 kids in the carers home), and I got the heeby-jeebies!
We looked at daycare centres and there was one who got grumpy-pants smiling and playing, the ladies were playing with him, he was watching other kids, I liked how they sorted a discipline issue. It felt right.
For those curious, based on a day rate of $100 (rounded, including nappies and food) our childcare funding is calculated as:
$60 'child care benefit' $20 'child care rebate' - paid upfront but reimbursed at the end of the year $20 out of pocket
Re: Childcare Roundup!
Are we Jewish? Nope! We are totally agnostics.
That said, I have always felt an affinity for the Jewish people and love the focus on moral and academic development.
Any reccomendations on SF peninsula are appreciated.
