Hello ladies!

Dd is 5 wo yesterday. It's been a crazy week of cluster feedings. Ever afternoon for the past 4 days from like 1-8pm was an hourly feeding.

Today I finally got a bit of a break :)
And I captured a few smiles and a funny face yesterday!

Hope you all are well!

@andatcdc‌ any news?

  • I'm also seeing an uptick in late day cluster feeding. My LO is 5 weeks tomorrow. I was thinking it might be ahead of the 6 week growth spurt? We had friends over for dinner and he was absolutely perfect!

  • I'm anxiously waiting to hear from you @andatcdc‌!

LO turned 1 month yesterday! I can't believe how fast it's gone. I'm already dreading going back to work in 3 weeks.

I swear we are getting some occasional real smiles already! In the pic below he had just woken up and I said "Hi baby" and he just burst out that smile!

I'm still trying to figure out this formula thing. Dr said DS can feed on demand at night, but if I don't wake him he already sleeps 5 or 6 hours. I'm not sure if that's ok. One time, his belly was growling! He is a little over 10 lbs, so maybe it's ok.

I have the worst tendonitis in my left forearm. It's killing me!! Anyone else ever deal with this?

    Happy Sunday, everyone!
  • @CapsFan52‌ let him sleep!

dd feeds at 10, usually bitches until midnight then falls asleep. She doesn't wake until 5-6 now. So long as he's past his birthweight, and is feeding consistently thru the day (and gaining) let him sleep. I don't wake DD unless I'm ready to explode. And even then sometimes I just opt to pump and let her sleep. If she wakes soon after pumping, she gets the bottle. If not, I just nurse her.

;) you'll get the hang of it. Trust me, he will let you know if he's hungry or not lol

  • Hey ladies! We hit 5 weeks on Friday and I go back to work 3 weeks from tomorrow. I'm so sad and have gotten so used to hanging with LO 24/7! It will be hard. She was super fussy the past two weeks in the evening and dare I say she has gotten a little better? Maybe we are just getting better at reading her cues. LO likes to sleep on her tummy so I have cautiously been letting her during nap time under my supervision. And she looks super cute with her tush in the air. I hope everyone all the Sunday gals are going well!! Have a great one!

Hi ladies! We've made it 3 1/2 weeks. I've still been trying to feed every 2 hrs, and supplementing a few times a day, but I think I will be calling the Dr tomorrow and ask about adding in more formula instead of reducing it. The little man can nurse for an hour and still is hungry after. Still pumping but never getting more than an ounce.

Breast feeding definitely has not gone according to plan, but at this point, I just want little man to be healthy and growing!

We had a great weekend with some friends visiting Saturday, and a pretty low-key day today. I still haven't caught a smile on camera, but totally loving all your pics. I did catch a little pucker a few days ago though!
  • @midwestFNP‌ I go back to work the same day as you (Sept 29, right?). It's gonna suck. :-( At least we can help each other cope...somehow.

What's your daycare situation? My DH is going to be able to take 4 weeks after I go back, my mom is covering 1 week, and then DS will go to a wonderful (albeit expensive) center near our house the week he turns 3 months old. I'm trying to focus on the positives he'll get rather than stressing about the other issues. DS will make friends, be a little more independent, etc. It's still going to be so hard!
  • @CapsFan52‌ I go back to work October 6th. My sister actually has an infant daycare in her home and she lives about 2 miles from my house so I think it will work out okay. She is expensive too-over $800 a month! I'm not getting any kind of discount but that's okay because she has a business to run and employees to pay (but a discount would be nice!!). I wanted to get a nanny but they're pricey and we are planning some renovations around the house. I am scared of her being in a daycare when she's so little. :(

Well, @midwestFNP‌, you just gained a week cuz you go back in 4, not 3! Haha!

Edit cuz it's the MOTN and I'm falling asleep and forgot to say, that's great your sister has a place! How wonderful to have a place you can trust 100% and where your LO will be TRULY loved. :-)
  • Sorry ladies ... better late than never right? Calvin Bernard Dwight was born September 4th. I'll post a full birth story on the board. We are so in love and trying to figure out this whole parenting thing!

Wow, @andatcdc‌, just read your birth story. I'm glad the docs were about to control your bleeding!

I too had a crazy birth story. I actually didn't even want to post much about it til at least all the Sunday ladies had their babies cuz I didn't want to freak anyone out. I'll post it from my computer sometime.

I'm glad you and Calvin are happy and healthy! Thanks for the update...we've been thinking about ya!

Edited now that my keyboard isn't f'dup!
