The announcements are in the mail! (GULP)

So, my family is mostly comprised of terrible, aweful, no good very bad people. Ok, maybe they aren't THE WORST. But they are very self-centered and they have tendencies to respond to things negatively instead of giving the social responses accepted as being universally acceptable.

Instead they supply helpful comments like, "Oh, engaged again?" "Nobody's first marraige works out." or "Can you change your wedding date because that really doesn't work for me?

Ok....I digress..

I am telling my family I am pregnant by putting cards in the mail! That's how they will all find out! Why? Because this gives them time to read the card. Get their faces right...dial the number...and hopefully give me a normal response like...."Congratulations, I'm very excited for you!"

Why wouldn't they? I'm turnning 30. I've been happily married for 6 years and I'm a financially stable FTM! Why wouldn't they be happy for me? Because...they're weird.

They should recieve the cards mid-week. I'm prepared for my phone to start ringing off the hook. In the mean time, I'm biting my nails and telling myself. " I shouldn't give a fig-newton what they think and if they don't have anything nice to say then it's their problem!" Still, I had a hard time sleeping last night.

I hope your family gets their 'tudes together and congratulates you like you deserve! Even if they're less then as good as they should be, remember that all of us F15 ladies are excited for you!

Haha I totally texted my mom that we were pregnant for this reason. She called back and said "That is so wonderful!! At first I thought 'This is way too soon! We're they trying ?!?' But now I see, it's not too soon!"

Mom. Keep the running commentary on your head. I only need the socially-appropriate end result.
