We will be finding out the sex of our baby in a couple of weeks. I was asked yesterday by my MIL what our theme is going to be. I have a couple of ideas for a boy (trains or dinosaurs). I would love any ideas you have for boy/girl, but I'm thinking it's a girl so would love girl ideas. So far I've come up with owls or elephants. Thanks in advance, ladies!
Re: Baby girl nursery ideas??
I'm doing a butterfly theme. I'm not a huge fan of pink, but I think we are going to use this fabric with green accents.

I'm mostly using furniture we already own (rug, low dresser for changing table, armchair, wicker baskets for toys). We'll add some white bookshelves. I've got some art I want to work in already and we'll probably buy a couple more prints. It should all work for an infant or a 10-year-old.
ETA I know there will be baby specific things beyond the crib. I've already picked up an adorable kiddy clothes rack. But nothing will require major time or money to age with kiddo.
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
We didn't do a theme - we just stuck with matching colors. Painted the room baby blue and had brown furniture and pink/brown bedding/accessories.
ETA - this baby will share the guest room where it will be grey/yellow. We are team green so we like to keep in neutral.
DD 12.2010
I'll probably change my mind a dozen more times before I actually decorate anything
Definitely check out Pinterest, there are SO many great ideas!

We didn't do a theme with DD. We just picked colors and did a big tree wall stencil. We will do the same this time around. It will either be light gray and teal or light gray and yellow.
I don't want to have to redo the room in a couple years, so I tried to make it be able to transition to a big kid room.
Lay the dowel at the top of the quilt (about 2-3 inches down from the edge). Cut the ribbon into 3" strips and place along the length of the dowel in small intervals, then safety pin the ends of each ribbon above and below the dowel. Mount 2 small command strip hooks on the wall at the height you need and 4-5" in from the edge of the quilt and hang by the dowel. Voila - you've got a beautiful wall hanging without having to buy a special quilt hanger.
