Sleep

Im looking for opinions from all of you mom's... DD is still sleeping in our room in her pack n play and sleeps great at night. She is still in her room because im so nervous to have her in her own room. My question is: does it get harder on baby to transition to their crib the older they get?

    Short answer. Yes.

It really depends on the child

ETA we did it at 8 weeks. We all slept better and I'm glad I did it.

  • We've had DD in her room since day 1, and she's been fine. But like pp said, depends on the child. I can tell you that my nephew, who is 1.5 years old will NOT sleep in his room more than 2 hours. They tried transitioning him pretty late, not sure exact month. But he will fall asleep and within 1-2 hours he wakes up and walks to his parents room. So based off my sisters expiereance I would have to say yes.

  • I just transitioned him to the crib last night and he slept better than he has ever slept in our room. I know it probably won't last but some babies like the space of the crib!

  • My DD also slept better in her own crib. We transitioned her at 8 weeks. She's STTN ever since (18 weeks now).
  • It seems like it would be harder the older they get ..I transitioned this LO to his crib at 4 weeks with zero issues, we transitioned DS1 at 3 months and it took about a week. So even just that little bit of age difference seemed to matter for us.

  • We transitioned DD at 8 weeks. It went really well. I'm glad we did it when she could still be swaddled. Now she just rolls on her tummy and sleeps like that (no swaddle).

  • 15 weeks - still in the RNP in our room. She's starting to get squished in the RNP, but we've tried the crib for naps and it wasn't very successful. She likes to be at an incline and snuggled in. Even swaddled in the crib she didn't get restful naps. I know we need to transition soon but I'm not sure how to make her comfy in the way that she likes.
