*BFP Warning* There's a BFP announcement at the end of this post. Please skip it if you are having a bad day.
Welcome to the TTFAS AL check-in. This check-in is for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues about TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day. Please remember to post an intro on the main board as we are all here to TTC a sibling!
All are welcome to join us! Please give us an intro with
the following information if you wish: name(s)/age(s) of your child(ren),
EDD(s) and where you are in your TTC journey.
If you get a BFP please send @Nieko0423 a private PM so I can add you to our graduates list.

Re: AL Check-In (September 4)
I'm not a big sports fan.
I'm 9DPO on a TTA cycle and am off the bench next cycle. CD1, and I'm officially off the bench, although with an 8 day LP last cycle, I'm not feeling very good about jumping back into TTC. I found out yesterday that my Protein S level were still low at 8 weeks post partum, so I got a referal to a hematologist for next week. We'll see how he wants me to proceed (although I feel pretty certain he will say daily Lovenox injections with my next pregnancy) and whether he wants to order more blood work.
QOTW: I'm not a big sports fan really. I don't dislike them and can sit and watch just about anything but doing so just isn't high on my priority list. DH is a big Bears fan though, so I'll vote them my favorite fall sports team.
October 2011 - DS (7)

August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
@sarcaztic10 big hugs, love.
I'm cd 13. I don't usually o this early, but I had a temp spike this morning. Interested to see what happens tomorrow.
Huge football fan. Don't really have high hopes for my teams this year, but my Texans did make some interesting moves this past weekend. Might have an average season. We also watch a lot of UT football in our house.
@BookishMomma - Hope you are off the bench very soon!
@sarcaztic10 - ((hugs)) to you. Sorry about the BFNs.
@Missa_g - Continuing to think of you. I wish your appt. was this week and not next but I hope you can get some answers and a plan that works for you when you meet with her. Love to you!
@CheesyPeas - Hope the hematologist can give you a good plan and some reassurance. Please keep us updated!
@squirmworms - Good luck with your RE appt.!
@littlecookie - Hope your chart can give you some clarity soon!
@mrandmrsk91011 - Sorry about the baby pics. That’s so tough. Hope January is here before you know it!
AFM: Still waiting for AF to show up from my D&C a month ago. I had all my usual pre-AF symptoms this weekend but she never showed so who knows when she will show. I had my first acupuncture appt. this morning and I really liked it. The plan is to do 4-6 more weekly treatments as he wants to see me into my first cycle and then we'll go to "maintenance" visits (probably once a month or so) until I get a BFP. Then we'll go back to weekly visits until I'm about 8-9 weeks. He didn't recommend any herbs or traditional medicine but he did say it wouldn't hurt to add baby aspirin in so once we start TTC again we will add one baby aspirin daily after O until 8-10 weeks. I'm actually really excited about the acupuncture so if anyone ever wants to talk about it feel free to PM.
ETA the QOTW (because I always forget!): I'm a Eagles fan at heart but DH grew up with the Dolphins so we route for both here. And for college ball we cheer for Penn State.

@littlecookie - I usually don't O unitl between CD16-20 but some odd months it comes early (like CD13 or 14). So it's definitely possible that you did. Do you use opks? How is your timing if you did O?

All are Welcome!
@mara005, I have talked with her about it, and she gave me progesterone, which did very litttle for my LP. I tend to have a 9 or 10 day LP, with the occassional 8 day LP like this cycle, and with progesterone, I would get a whopping 11 days with the extra typically having a little spotting. There was one crazy cycle where I actually had to stop progesterone to get my period but I have no idea what that was about. It was a one time fluke. My doc told me to not bother with the progesterone after it did very little for me, and I had an appointment set up to move onto next steps when I ended up getting pregnant with Layla. I had this small sliver of optimism that my loss might've reset whatever was so messed up with my body before and my LPs would magically be better but obviously I'm heading down that same path again and will probably need to set up another appointment with her.
October 2011 - DS (7)
July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)
August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
@Nieko0423, the Protein S is purely a blood clotting thing that may help explain my losses, so the hematologist will really just be working with me on how to increase the likelihood of my next pregnancy being successful if I am able to conceive again. My LP is a whole other story... I would seriously kick the shit out of my stupid body if I weren't so dependent on it for life and stuff.
Your SIL sounds wonderful. I'm glad you decided to tell her and have her as a part of your support system. Good luck on your quest to better physical and mental health; I'm right there with you.

July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)
August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
I'm 5 dpo with well time intercourse but not optimistic. Why would anything change now? I've lost my optimism after 18 months of trying. I'm on Clomid and progesterone through my ob. I have an appointment with an RE a week from Monday. I don't know that we can afford treatment options but we're at least going to price them.
@Nieko0423 - Not a dumb question at all! I've always heard ladies on TTCAL and PgAL say they were taking it but I never really understood why until the acupuncturist explained today. Baby aspirin is low-dose enough that it won't hurt anything but could help. I never had any tests for clotting disorders come back abnormal but the baby aspirin is supposed to help blood flow to the uterus/placenta and prevent clots from forming that make it difficult for the baby to implant/grow. Per the acupuncturist, acupuncture can help with infertility and recurrent loss from two standpoints: improving blood flow to the uterus (important for clotting disorders) and to improve egg quality (which would also theoretically improve with increased blood flow). Since we are thinking egg quality is the issue I'll do whatever I can to improve it (since until recently no one thought you could improve it). I don't know if it's going to help but if it won't hurt anything I'm fine taking (another) pill a day.

Hi all, I'm coming on over here! I'm Amber, my son is Taylor and he is 20 months (12/30/12 birthday). I've had 2 confirmed losses, EDD 10/25/14 and 2/17/15. The first loss happened naturally at around 8 weeks, this past loss was discovered when I started spotting, went for an u/s and there was no hb at 7 weeks. I elected to have a D&C the next day. After the rough year, my H and I decided to wait until at least next year to TTC again, mostly for my sanity. My first EDD is right around the corner and I've had a bad few weeks - so OF COURSE today comes a huge box from Similac saying congrats, it's almost time! UGH.
Anyway, lots of love and support to all of you ladies. Though I'm not actively TTC, I understand how hard it is after a loss but I'm happy to have a place I can still talk openly about my little guy. Because he is pretty cool!

Possible triggers, bfp mentioned not mine
Rough day here I guess. My cousin called yesterday to tell me his wife is pregnant. I'm glad he told me early (they're about 4 weeks) but I can't help but be sad that my babies won't grow up with his. We were very close as kids and always looked forward to our kids playing together. I have a 2yo ds but it doesn't change the fact that my twins will never play with his kids. So I poas today (13dpo) even though we weren't really trying this month. Negative of course. And I'm cleared medically but hubby wants to wait until January and I don't feel like arguing about it but I think it's a dumb plan. So. I'm pouting. Plus my mom came by with my step sister's baby she had to adopt from her family member because they're stupid and have no idea how to take care of a kid. They get visitation while the adoption is processing and mom was telling me stories of how they tried to feed her baby food in a bottle, clogged up the nipple, and then just didn't feed her till they brought get back five hours later instead of washing it, how her bio dad called her ' fat as hell' (she's eight months old), and all kinds of crazy stuff. I just brought ds upstairs after they left and once he feel asleep in my arms I just cried.

Ahh, I forgot to mention what really got my bad day going today. I have been taking a break from FB but hopped on Instagram - there was one of my BMB friends that posted a picture of her newborn and her son together with her and her husband. I lost it, couldn't help but want to scream. My EDD is October so it just made me think of what I should be experiencing in a month. UGH
@BLuvsE I'm so sorry for all of that! Hearing about a bfp is not easy. My H also wants to TTA for a long time. I agreed to January, but last night he mentioned maybe we should wait longer. So frustrating. Wow, what a crazy mess that adoption situation sounds like. Good thing the baby is getting to be in the right hands. Thanks for the SScake, Yum.

I have 1 DD, she is 5. I have two angel babies that were due 6/18/14. Right now we are ttc naturally, until the new year, and then we will discuss our RE options and go from there. Hopefully, we will not have to go there. We have been actively TTC since 2011. We have done a couple of Clomid cycles through my obgyn, but decided to wait until we go to the RE to further continue medicated cycles. For now we are all natural cycles. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis as well as IR.

Hi ladies- I didn't get the flag for this a few days ago, so sorry I'm late to the party again! I'll give my EDDs here- 4/2/14 and 11/28/14. Not much new this week- still in the waiting game for my MFM consult and hoping we'll get the go ahead to start TTC in October. At least my 2 post-loss cycles have been relatively normal so hopefully that will mean good things when we start trying. Hope you ladies have had a good weekend!
@ellebelle2384 - I'd definitely be interested to hear how your acupunture goes as well. Since my OB thinks both of my losses were cord/blood flow 'accidents' (no clotting issues in my testing results), I'm pretty sure I'll be on baby aspirin again next time and I may ask about acupunture.
