Baby Names

Help me name Charlotte and Henry's baby sister

Names we've been tossing around include Margot (Margo?), Piper, Josephine/Josie, Camille, and Julia.  Thoughts?  Additional suggestions?  Here's the kicker -- our last name is a mouthful to say the least.  Very German, very gutteral, tons of consonants, often mispronounced.  Just so you get the general idea, let's say its Shwartzenegger.

Note:  We really like Margot/Margo, but our last name has a hard "g" in it.  Too much "g"?

  • I like Margot Shwartzeneggar. I don't think you have too much 'G' going on.

I like Margot, Camille, and Piper best.

  • I personally would pick a softer first name if it's a very gutteral last name, but i like feminine-sounding names. I think Julia is really pretty.

I think Margot sounds nice with your example surname. I also love Josephine, and Julia and Camille are fine too. Piper sounds out of place with Henry and Charlotte.

  • I really like Josephine and Julia. Margo(t) would be nice too, I think it would sound fine with a Schwartzenneger-like last name.

  • Love your first two kiddos' names:)  They are both soft and beautiful sounding. Of your choices, I think Camille and Julia seem like a similar style.  Other names with a similar style might be Norah or Laura (Laurel?)?

  • I like Julia best with your other children's names.

  • How about Elizabeth or Katherine?

Both of those work well with your last name and with Charlotte and Henry.

  • I like Josie.
  • Margot - It's ok. NMS.
Piper - I dislike Piper a whole lot.
Josephine - Love Josephine. Not a fan of Josie as a nn.
    Camille - Like.
Julia - Like. Like Juliet even more.

With Henry and Charlotte, I think I like Josephine the best from your choices. The name Alexandra came to mind though.
Started adoption process in Jan. 2011.
    3 failed matches in 2012.
    Surprise pregnancy in Aug. 2012.
Precious baby boy "HC" born May 2013.
    Began researching EA in 2014.
No longer pursuing EA due to fibroid complications.
Officially on the adoption home study wait list.

  • I love Julia the best.  Obviously I like Camille as well (since that's dd's name) but I'm not sure the soft French name will go well with a hard German ln.  Without knowing your ln, it's hard to say though.

Piper doesn't seem to go well with your other 2 children's names.

Margot is lovely; a perfect compliment to the sibset not do I think it is to much with the LN.

Josephine is also a great option.

I would eliminate Camille so you don't have two C names, even though the sounds are different.

ETA: Also like Victoria with your sibset.
