IUI #3 a bust

The question is... do we try for IUI #4? We are not able to move to IVF right away (finances), so I wonder if we should just give it another go with round #4 of IUI. I'm so disappointed. I'm mad at myself for believing #3 could have worked.

You had no control over whether or not IUI#3 would have worked, it was perfectly reasonable to believe it could have! Don't be too hard on yourself. Hopefully the hope you felt made it easier to get through the 2WW, and hopefully you'll get a next step plan and feel hopeful about that soon.

Do you think your RE would recommend doing an injects cycle? I think that's what we'll do for IUI#4, because it has higher chances but also because it helps the RE to see our response to the injects, so then they can do a more effective IVF cycle.

I'm sorry. We're waiting to do IVF and even though we are dealing with MFI I wonder if we should just do an IUI in the mean time to up our chances. We decided not to, I needed a break from everything. it just wasn't worth the money and stress. I don't know if I would feel the same way if I was younger and not dealing with MFI though. Feel better.

Thanks everyone. @BunnyBerry‌ and @angelina2404‌ my Dr. recommended against injects w/IUI because I've been responding to the Clomid and it would put me in a high risk with potential multiples. I have a history of pulmonary embolism (blood clot) from BC. He said that it would be better to do injects w/IVF, because there's more control. I wonder if I should ask about Letrozole though??

Makes sense. I have no idea if RE's switch up from Clomid to Letrozole to try something new...wouldn't hurt to ask I suppose! Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'd try one more. My RE likes to move his UI patients to IVF sooner, but since you did have a chemical pregnancy...I think it's worth one more go! Good luck!

I'm sorry it was a bust. I wouldn't give up on IUI just yet. Keep the faith and try it again. Maybe switching from clomid like others have said would be a good idea.

So sorry to hear about your BFN.

If you are financial able I would continue with IUI. I see a lot of BFP in #4-6 and you just never know!

I'm so sorry!!!! I am on 6dpiui #3 and this couldn't be a worse cycle. I am pretty sure it's a bust and like you don't know where to go next! Hugs to you!

I;m so sorry your 3rd IUI didn't work out. I was also going with the "third times a charm" mindset and was hit with a BFN so I totally know what you are going through. If it were me I would continue on with another IUI since the cost is a lot less than other fertility treatments. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm so sorry. I'm getting ready for IUI #4 as we speak because my RE sees no reason for me to switch yet. If you want to try another round, go for it!
