They eat so slowly and so often in the early days -- what do you do for entertainment while feeding? Mobile bump? Watch TV? Read a book? Read/watched anything good lately?
If DD is at daycare, I'm usually watching trashy TV and bumping or surfing the web. Last week I discovered Ion Life channel, sort of an HGTV type channel we get without cable.
If DD is home, it takes all my energy and attention to keep her happy and not climbing on me, DS, or the walls.
Well, I had a c/s, so I was pretty incapacitated for many days, so we watched a looooooot of TV. Top Chef, Top Gear, CSI, Bones, World's Dumbest, Parking Wars... I watched a lot. And I turn it on at night feedings now too just to keep myself awake.
I'm pretty big on my YouTube subscriptions so I catch up on those or netflix. I did spent a good couple of days researching on her hematoma when it was still present so much time was spent on that.
I Bump while I pump. And eat. Mmmmmm. Anyone else have their milk suddenly let down when hearing a baby cry? It's like Pavlov triggering the dog to salivate after hearing the stimulus of the bell. Well, since my milk lets down while eating/pumping, food is my bell. The other day, if was making a salad in the kitchen and my boobs started uncontrollably leaking! Bodies are strange.
During the day Netflix, at night mobile Facebook and mobile bumping. I have tried reading a book, but apparently I an not coordinated enough to do that while feeding her.
I try to interact with him at least half the time - singing songs, telling stories, or reading outloud from a book or the newspaper. The other half I do my own thing - reading silently, checking Facebook, movies - and of course Bump
Went through the entire series of Lost while pregnant so I feel empty now. While LO is nursing or I'm pumping I'll work on my homework (online student), check Facebook 30,000x, work (work from home), text H while he's at work, or eat. I'm getting really good at nursing and multitasking
During the day I'm in the living room so the TV and all that jazz. At night I dim my phone as low as possible while feeding and rocking in his room. I usually just look on Facebook, Instagram and pinterest.
I haven't gotten the hang of one handed nursing. I usually have one hand on my boob and one hand on the baby (my boobs are huge and I'm paranoid about her suffocating). So I usually just watch Netflix. If I manage to get a hand free I'll play games on my phone and Facebook.
@BlckRoses I hope I didn't miss an email from you for my labor buddy duties? I've been thinking of you and keeping my eyes peeled but I didn't see anything. So many apologies if I failed you!!
I read my ebook or look at stuff on my phone, or watch Netflix/Amazon Prime. And I am totally looking for recommendations on that front!
