I figured I'd start the thread. What's on your weekly meal plan for this week?
Bonus question: what do you typically bring for lunch if you brown bag it? (always looking for ideas...)
I figured I'd start the thread. What's on your weekly meal plan for this week?
Sunday-homemade pizza
Monday-I try to keep it meatless-Veggie Pasta Skillet with some garden vegetables
Tuesday-leftover pizza
Wednesday-Mexican Chx Casserole
Thursday-Quiche with bacon and more garden veggies
Friday-if I'm up to it I'll throw something in the crockpot or we'll do takeout.
Saturday-usually we grab food out or grill out
Bonus question: what do you typically bring for lunch if you brown bag it? (always looking for ideas...)
I bought a cheap plastic version of a Bento box, so I've been filling it with randoms(salads, hard-boiled egg, hummus, sometimes sandwiches). Typically I do a morning snack, a light lunch(my recess/lunch time is 11:05) and then a snack after the kiddos leave with some protein to keep my going until dinner. I feel like my lunch bag is filled to the brim daily.
Monday -- beef steak with caramelized onions. DD will have panko breaded fish fillet Tuesday -- gamberi pasta (shrimp in olive oil and sun dried tomatoes). DD will have homemade chicken nuggets. Wednesday -- tenderloin tips with lots of garlic over jasmine rice Thursday -- tuna penne pasta Friday -- three cheese pesto spaghetti with pan grilled chicken breast fillet Saturday -- dinner at my dad's house
Re the bonus question. I just bring left overs fr either dinner or bkfast. DH likes to have big breakfasts and as asians we are big on rice for bkfast. So i bring along extra fried rice with sausage and egg -- i know oily. Sorry. Haha. Sometimes we have cornedbeef over white rice. Spanish omelette and toast. Or sauteed tuna or spanish tomato sardines with toast or muffins. Meatloaf and fried rice is a breakfast-slash-packed lunch for me too. For snacks i bring along two kinds of fruits like pineapple, grapes, mangoes, pomelo, apple, banana or the like. Boiled egg, cheese and crackers. I also bring w me a bite size chocolate for when i get sleepy. Sorry got too long. Hth
Sunday - https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/slow-cooker-enchiladas
Monday - pork roast in slow cooker with potatoes and carrots
Tuesday - I will be gone so its leftovers or frozen pizza for DH and boys
Wednesday- dinner at my parents
Thursday - chili in slow cooker ( made the beef and threw in some peppers with tonight's dinner and will throw in freezer to put in my chili)
Friday - we have plans and won't be home
For lunch I usually take whatever leftovers are in the house or cheese and crackers with veggies and fruit, etc
I generally buy 4 nights worth of meals but don't plan them for a particular day because my appetite/food aversions still change daily. So here is what are the meals for the week...
-Left over Chicken Fijitas from this weekend (probably Monday)
-Spaghetti and Italian sausage with green salad
-Falafel burghers with green salad
Bonus: Lunches have changed a lot since I've become pregnant because I used to have a sandwich almost everyday, but no more turkey lunch meat for me. I do a mix of soups, left-overs, cheese and crackers, daily fruit of some kind, and the occasional PB & J.
Today I made chicken nachos.
Monday and Tues I'm aiming for eggplant parm.
I don't have it planned after that but I have pork chops probably with corn and another veggie later in the week. Potato soup and salad another day.
For lunch I take leftovers. I was doing veggie hummus wraps for a while but got tired of them. I miss cold cuts!
Monday Sept 8 Crockpot chicken and dumplings, rice, summer salad (I had this on my menu for last week and we ended up eating out. We wanted to test it out for a quick and easy meal in January)
Sunday: leftovers
Monday: stuffed pepper sauté and cheesy rice with yellow squash
Tuesday: crab cakes, yellow beans, and corn chowder
Wednesday: Hot dogs, corn on the cob, tomato cucumber salad
Thursday: crockpot pork chops, mashed potatoes, and sautéed carrots
Friday: Roasted Veggie Pizza
Bonus: I normally eat a little snack around 10:00, lunch, and a mid afternoon snack. I normally take leftovers, a yogurt or applesauce, a piece of fruit, and cheese and crackers. I overpack because I'd rather take one of my snacks home than have to raid the vending machine.
Monday- Puerto Rican rice (yellow rice with chick peas), grilled pork chops, potato salad Tuesday- broccoli soup Wednesday- white rice, beans, chicken and sweet plaintains Thursday- chicken Parmesan Friday- Sunday we usually eat out
