We have the Sleep Sheep and usually use ocean sounds but I was daring and put on the heartbeat the other day and he kind of went into a trance with it, lol.
Rain... She loves rain sounds! I think it's the consistency of it. We play it on her sleep sheep at night. In the day during fussy periods we play a YouTube video of a rainstorm. If we are out and about and she's fussy, I use my Sleep Pillow app on my phone and put it next to her in the car seat. Works like a charm.
Do any of you who use white noise also roomshare? I'm tempted to try it but not sure if I can sleep to white noise....but it has to be better than baby grunts and groans and restlessness.
We use the heartbeat sound. Started out with the rain sound but DH found it annoying lol. We play it on medium/high but we set the timer on our machine so it turns off after an hour. I would play it all night, but DH says he doesn't want LO to depend on the sound to sleep through the night, and since DS sleeps from 9-3 I'm going with it for now. When we put him down after his MOTN feed we turn it back on for an hour.

Yep, but I've used sound machines to sleep for years so we are used to it. It helps smooth out all those little sounds during the night.

We do. Out sleep machIne has a time do it goes off but I like it anyway.I find it soothing too!

We are sharing right now and have the white noise machine going all night, doesn't really bother us as it kind of blends into the sound of the air conditioner. Might even be helping me sleep better during the few hours between feedings lol.
We used it when we room shared and still here it through the monitor now that DS is in his own room. We keep it on all night and it seems to help him but it helps me as well because I don't hear all of the noises he makes during the night.
We are roomsharing, and using a sleep sheep. I've switched between the heartbeat, whales, and waves sounds. Right now the waves win. Set the timer for 45 minutes and we all sleep! I'm going to potentially get one for our room when he goes to his own- dh used the tv to help him sleep for years and I can't handle that anymore.
We have the Homedics baby spa and use the stream noise. Always on med/high. When I go to sleep in her room (after her first MOTN waking at 1-3) it doesn't bother me at all.
I've used a white noise machine ever since I had the misfortune of picking an apartment near train tracks years ago. (Super apartment hunting FAIL). We actually use 3 white noise machines at night because we're so used to it...one on the baby projection thing we got for Elias's room so he'll be used to that one, a machine we got at Bed Bath & Beyond, and the Sleep Machine app on my phone. I can't sleep without the white noise now, and Elias seems to like it!

We use ocean on the sleep sheep, too. The whale one makes me giggle.
@Qfrump The whale sounds freaky to me. Kinda like a scary movie setting. Lol!!
@TexasGirl81 agreed! I hit the whale one by accident the other night and it totally freaked me out!

Both DS's sleep with machines. Their machines are different so DS 1 uses white noise and DS 2 uses car ride.
