40 Weeks with no progress :(

Today is my due date and at my appointment last week I wasn't progressing in the slightest bit

I know baby will come when he is ready but has anyone else experienced this, if so how did you deal with it? I have, thankfully, had a very easy pregnancy with no pain and very little discomfort which makes me feel like I am going to be pregnant forever!! Lol but seriously! Thanks in advance

Yep. I had zero progress until I went into labor with my first. It's common. I'm not really sure what kind of advice you're looking for, you just wait. Have sex, go for a walk, bounce on a ball...just the basics.

With my first I was so excited when my Dr said I was 3 cm dilated at 35-36 weeks....then I hit 40 weeks and there was no more progression. Even after stripping my membranes twice I was 90% effaced still no labor. I was induced shortly after. I wish i had been more patient but that last four weeks is so hard. Like shauna813 said due dates aren't always accurate but its hard when that date passes and you're still pregnant. Your baby should be coming anytime though just hang in there!

DS didn't arrive until 41 weeks & 2 days. I cried a lot those last two weeks from pain (I have other pain problems), BP problems & just feeling done.

I cried & walked.
I cried & floated in the pool.
I had sex.
I just dealt with it day by day.

No lie though, when contractions got real I was incredibly excited & just ready to get the show on the road.

Hang in there. Baby will come on their own time.

I'm not quite there yet, but just wanted to know if the doctor will automatically induce you if you don't progress after week 40 or do you have the option to just wait it out?

My doc said that she will only let me go up to 41 weeks.. Due on 9/12so currently penciled in for a 9/19 induce date.. Still no dilation and my cervix is only softened and hasn't shortened too much yet

Doctor couldn't even reach my cervix on my due date. The next day I woke up in labor. You never know what could happen!

Pamper yourself while you wait: get your haircut, nails done, go out to eat!

My doctor told me that he will not let me go past 41 weeks I am not sure if they allow you to just wait it out a bit longer but if it's something you're interested in it never hurts to ask! Congrats and Good Luck

With my first I was induced at 41.5 weeks with zero progression. I cried a lot past my due date

That's rubbish, forcing someone to induce- do more research into inductions! Unless there is a medical reason just wait till baby is ready!

I just try to remember baby will come when he/she is ready. Try not to stress, it can happen really fast! Just be glad you are comfortable for now...

I never had any progression with either of my babies prior to labour.

I know how frustrating it is to watch your due date come and go. Baby will be here soon. Just take it day by day.

I'm there right now. Today is my due date and labor is nowhere in sight...

It's hard, but as PP said, it's just a date and baby will come when he/she is ready. Most FTMs go past their due date, so I'm keeping that in mind to stay sane

My MW will let you get to 41, at which point they do an NST. If all is well, they let you go til 42w, at which point they will induce (Which my favorite MW refers to as the eviction date)
