Baby dropping?

What does it feel like when your baby drops?

Re: Baby dropping?

  • I don't think my first ever truly "dropped".

  • Some lady at work made a comment that I looked like my baby had already dropped. But to me I don't look or feel any different! Her comment started to stress me out lol
  • I never felt the drop- it didn't feel any different to me. But the couple days before I had my son, I was definitely a lot slower in my ability to walk, so maybe that was it?

It's probably too early for our babies to be dropping.  But it feels like you can breathe again, but the feeling you have to go to the bathroom is much worse.

I would have said this, but LO definitely dropped last week. Dr. Google says it can happen any time from weeks to just hours before baby is born. Still makes me a little nervous, but I'm going to talk to my OB about it on Tuesday.

I've never "felt" them drop, but my plate shelf is gone and my belly now points down instead of out. It's a lot easier to breathe, especially when laying down. On the downside, walking is more uncomfortable and the urge to go is much more urgent.

It's still too early for our babies to drop. But last time when N dropped, I had to pee more, I started the waddle, my hips hurt like a bitch and I got horrible hemi's. You could visibly tell she dropped but that was just my experience.
  • When DD dropped I remember it feeling like she was about to fall out, especially when going up or down stairs. Of course, she didn't. In fact, I ended up with a C-section because my pelvic bones were too narrow and she was stuck. She didn't drop until a week or so before my due date. We are way too early for that to happen yet I think.
  • I never felt DD drop but I am short and by the end it felt like she was taking up every bit of space in my trunk. It felt like this baby was up in my ribs a couple of weeks ago, but has since moved to a transverse position so LO feels lower. I think it is too soon for true "dropping". However, they can still change positions which might make it feel like LO is lower.

  • A ton of pelvic floor pressure, but that didn't occur until 35-38 weeks with my others.

  • If baby dropping causes more urges to pee, more waddling, more pelvic pain, and him to feel lower.......I don't want him to drop.
