I guess I saw this coming, but not so soon. He just doesn't like it anymore. I have been supplementing since he was born because the hospital talked me into it. I give formula at night and if I go out, but other than that I breastfeed. Little guy has been taking less and this week he has wanted much less and now refusing it all together. I even got my period for the first time this week:(
Anyone else have the same problem?
Re: My son won't breastfeed anymore.
((Hugs)) I haven't dealt with outright refusal, but we are dealing with distracted nursing. It's like I have to be in a dark room with no noise in order for her to take a full feeding. It's so frustrating, but hopefully it's just a phase.
I guess I should try pumping again.
Bottle fed and breastfed babies go through the same distracted feeding phase. It's really annoying, but they get over it or at some point start holding their own bottle. Lol
No experience with this (I EP) but just a thought on the supply issue.
Good Luck!!
Have you consulted an LC? Are you sure this isn't just a nursing strike? We also feed a bottle every night and have only had a minor nursing strike, of course while I was away from home with both my girls.
I can see my boobs deflating and my pumping output has declined. I tried power pumping a few days ago but it made my boobs so sore so I has to stop.
I want to nurse a few more weeks! Does anyone have any other recommendations for @deanna1313 and me? TIA
@kat8805 oh boy! You're right. I didn't realize what she was talking about. Thank you.
My LO did do a small feeding this morning so I was happy with that so far. My period seems to be ending so maybe that's all it was.
