household chores

While we were cleaning our house today for our baby shower next weekend (MH did most of the cleaning ;) ) it got me thinking about how most things I did before seem to be way more complicated. I was washing the dishes and I have to stand sideways a little or bend over and rest my arms on the sink to wash because my back starts to hurt (luckily most of our stuff can go in the dishwasher so it's not like a lot of dishes have to be hand washed. It kind of makes me chuckle how simple chores now aren't so simple. Any of you find any amusement out of day to day chores?

*I know it's annoying not being able to do things as easily believe me I HATE how winded I get just from walking up stairs just figured it doesn't hurt to find a little amusement out of this

I do agree that cleaning in general is A LOT harder. I get winded so easy and my back starts hurting. I don't have any other kids, but cleaning our jacuzzi tub is the worst!!!! I now just get inside to do it.

Also bending over to bathe the dogs is killer. It's needs to be done now and will probably be the last time I'm able to do it.

Had to give our dog a bath. Busted out a baby shower gift, padded stool for kneeling on while bathing LO, so that was handy! But yeah, I totally half-assed the puppy cleaning today.
  • I agree with laundry chore. It's a hassle bending down and staying down until I load and unload. But H has been more and more helpful lately.
  • My biggest gripe is cleaning the bathtub. I hate kneeling and leaning forward to scrub it because my belly gets in the way. My hubby does the bleach part now (because of the chemicals), but I still scrub it once a week (just moved here and the landlord hasn't fixed the drain yet so it gets dirty really fast).

I also hate breaking down big cardboard boxes and trying to stuff them into the recycle bin--it take a lot of ab strength!

Thank goodness DH LOVES to vacuum!!  Washing dishes hasn't been terrible, I actually enjoy it and DH dries and puts away.  I still do the cooking, food shopping, I wheel and grab, he packs and hauls upstairs and we both put away, i break down whatever meat we buy in bulk though.

We've been splitting the laundry....I sort, he hauls washes and swaps, we fold our own (I do mine and SS's) and we all put our own away.  He was so good about it yesterday.....took care of everything that needed to be done laundry-wise without me having to ask as usual.  Super helpful.

The main chore is dusting....needs to be done and I've been slacking on it.  :/

Also constantly picking up/sweeping/vacuuming husky hair is a drag but it's kinda of always been a drag. The dog's lucky he's so cute.

I second this! We have a beagle and his shedding is the bane of my existence.
