Disposable nipple pads/covers

Do you find that they wrinkle up more in your bra vs. the washable type? I put some on yesterday and they felt a little bunchy/wrinkly. Also do you wear them all the time when you leave the house once your milk comes in? Not sure if I should automatically put them on or kind of wait and see if I leak etc. I am so new to all of this. lol

Re: Disposable nipple pads/covers

  • I wear the disposable ones all the time when I leave the house, but not due to leaking but due to nipples like bullets when pumping! Nobody needs to see that ;)

ha ha . I was surprisingly shocked at how much my nipples expanded during pumping. Didn't even realize that was possible. lol

  • I had yeast on my nipples (not thrush). I used to wear the disposable ones all the time but after the yeast i decided to only use the fabric kind. I find them more comfortable for the headlight nips. I wear soft cupped bras (again for the headlight nips and because I have issues with lopsided breasts...not terribly lopsided and I'm the only one who truly notices but still) so I don't have issues with them showing through

  • I like the Johnson's brand of disposables...they are the most absorbent I've found. I just stick them in my bra and don't use the adhesive patch. I have letdown always on the opposite breast and leaking/engorgement if I go over 3 hours without nursing/pumping. They are thick so they cover the headlights on issue but you can't see the pads thru my bra.
  • I really like the washable kind. I have the bamboobies reg and overnights. They're awesome and work really well. Haven't used them in ages but will definitely be using them with this new LO due in Feb. Definitely worth a try.
