Woah I just read the rest of the UO and now all the camping stuff makes sense. Telling other people that their kids are missing out because they don't do X,Y or Z makes me ragey.
DH's grandpa had a heart attack on Thursday and they took him off support yesterday and he passed away late last night. He's had Parkinson's for 15+ years and earlier this year was told he had less than a year left, so it wasn't necessarily a surprise. DH and his mom, aunt, and grandma were at the hospital yesterday pretty much all day. I asked DH if he wanted me there or if I could do anything, and he said no, he was good, so I stayed at work. I truly thought he was doing ok.
So he got home during bathtime and came in with us. He had a long day, so he looked wiped. At one point I look over at him and his eyes are red and a tear is tracking down his face. I just held him, but I felt like such a jerk for not doing more during the day, at least just being there for him. Later we talked some and he said it just hit him that his last grandpa was about to die. I think he's doing better today, but again I'm at work for a few hours (deadline coming up soon so we're swamped). So any spare hugs for my DH are appreciated
Friend's wedding last night - ds is at my parent's house. A night out and then staying at a fancy hotel.. our second night away from ds! Sounds great right?
Well, my contact stated feeling funny then really painful, and I sent dh for my glasses. Felt a little better. Got back to our room a little after 1am and immediately fell asleep. 3am I wake up in excruciating pain. I tried to see if it would improve with flushing my eye with water, and finally called my dr's after hours number. She said to go to the closest ER.
We check on google for the closest one and drive there. Couldn't find the ER so dh found an entrance and asked the security guard where the ER was. Turns out it was a psychiatric hospital. The guard told us when the next closest ER was.
2 hours later, I got diagnosed with a corneal abrasion and was sent on my way with meds. So much for a weekend getaway. We get more sleep at home with ds!
Pictures this morning were beyond miserable. It was so gosh darn hot! I think they probably got a couple good shots but I felt like I was melting by the end!
@COmama1314 Hugs lady. Hope the move goes smoothly and today isn't too stressful.
@ilovemyducks21 thinking of your DH and your family today! Sorry for your loss.
not much going on at casa de Denverbride today--took DS1 to a birthday party at a park this morning so both boys are napping and I'm trying to work up the motivation to clean my kitchen and living room...instead I'm on the couch bumping DH is off getting a massage so I figured I need some chill time too...
@lwrightenator I want to make it known that I am not actually friends with this person in any way, shape, or form. We are just unfortunate enough to be members of the same FB group
@somerandomchick Mr. Gutsy is more of the brown and wavy variety, classic rock instead of country, and only a little southern. And FIL is sadly not British, but he can be kind of an asshole so you got part of it right :-bd

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I ate two raw chocolate chip cookies today. No regrets.

@simone711 I could've written your post about the Hs sweat pans! I sadly threw them out. Two holes in the crotch and a hole in the inner thigh. My husband couldn't have been happier. [-X
DD was up from 1245-330 last night god only knows why. I'm hoping tonight is better.
Hope the humidity has broken for you hot mamas. It finally has for us and we have a cool breeze for a (hopefully) sleep filled night! 8->
This is a question for those who have a LO that doesn't like WCM. Dd only takes it sometimes. I don't think she's getting enough. Maybe one 8oz bottle every other day. What are substituting with? Almond milk, goat milk, some sort of toddler formula?
I used to give my daughter almond milk & also push the dairy snacks like cheese & yogurt.
It has been a long day. Signed for the apartment, went to therapy and started moving stuff into the new apartment. He ended up not helping and texted me at 5 saying we would do it tomorrow. Weird thing was that I was not really all that upset. I can't control him, only my feelings. The boys slept and I was able to get two car loads done.
The therapist wanted me to sit down and have a conversation with him to see if he was willing to rebuild the relationship. My therapy will be based off that answer I'm beyond terrified of that conversation but will ask him later this week.
I dunno if y'all want to hear about it all? It could be here for entertainment value at the least. And these are the days of our lives!
Lots and lots of hugs. I think you should share what you feel comfortable sharing here for support. I doubt anyone sees your relationship as entertainment and if they do, well that's on them. I hope you get a restful night of sleep.
@robynloureed DS probably gets about 10-12 ounces of BM and WCM daily (maybe less some days). He just started tolerating straight WCM. I get worried at times that he's not getting enough. I also supplement with cheese, yogurt and those Earth Best smoothies (I'm sure there are other brands, but I always look for the ones with the most calcium).
We had the best afternoon at ILs today. That is until they got home. We told them we would be there in the afternoon, not sure exactly when due to yard sale. We got there and they had gone to a fair 1. 5 hrs away. We knew that but figured theey would be home by 5. 6:30 rolls around and they show up. Fil freaks the F out on mh for working on a project that they have been planning on doing since the winter. Not because he wanted to help do it. Just because he felt like being an asshat. Mh comes back to the house from the barn, where I could hear fil yelling and says "Can you pack up? We are going home."
MIL starts freaking out on mh without even knowing what the fight was about. Holds over his head her "offer" of once a week babysitting. He says she can do what she wants but he doesn't care.
Now we are home and Alex is just going to bed. What a freaking cluster of a night. I am so happy with how mh handled himself but really wish it didn't have to come to this. Tl;dr FIL lost it on MH. MH says he doesn't want anything to do with them until they figure out how to act like adults.
I got a shark pro steam and spray. We used to have a bissel but the shark models had better reviews. I used it already and it was nice. It has three steam levels, the option of spraying a cleaner if you want (I doubt I will use this much since my main like of a steam mop is the lack of chemicals) and it cleaned the floors really well. They are shining.
On wcm - LO drinks maybe 12-16 oz a day but I also give him cheese and yogurt. He likes wcm as long as it's in a bottle or an open cup.
An legit music playing ice cream truck just rolled by my house and the arms waving 20 year old running after it from up the street was fricken hilarious. )
Happy Saturday Night! I just got puked on. Down the front and the back. It would seem that multivitamin take 2 is also an epic fail

Told DH I would like some sexy time...his response I don't want another kid. Since moving back with him he sees the stress of being around child all the time. Guess I need to call for BC because abstinence won't be working for me.

I hate when simultaneous posts post and the disconnect bbetween them makes one poster look insensitive. Wish we had a wincing emoticon.
