Read a good book lately?

Any recommendation for a "good-can't-put-it-down" book? Looking forward to a some quiet, alone time this weekend. Yay!

Re: Read a good book lately?

  • I'm in the midst of reading Coldbrook. It's pretty good. Sci-if mixed with zombie apocalypse.

Safe Haven was my last book that I couldn't 'put down'. Most of the time I leisurely read books so I'm not the most helpful :p

  • I am reading What Alice Forgot right now. So far, I am really enjoying it. It's an easy read, but entertaining.

Other recent reads: The Rosie Project (cute), The Ancient History (depressing), Dark Places (depressing as well).

I will be reading The Dovekeepers next. It was a gift from my BFF and looks good. Will be nice to have something a bit more meaty after WAF.

  • I second Safe Haven. I could not put it down and finished it in two days. Another one of my favorites that I couldn't stop reading is Water for Elephants.

I will go with the book I always recommended and tell you to read The Passage (Justin Cronin) if you haven't already. @Aussie45‌ if you want another zombie apocalypse rec, Cell (Stephen King, I think) is really good.
    The Passage is so good.
The only problem I had was that I didn't want it to end. I read The Twelve and then had the hardest time finding other books that even compared to the awesomeness.
    LOVED The Passage.

Right now I'm finishing up The Magicians series by Lev Grossman since the third book just came out.  The series is slated as sort of "A Grown Up Harry Potter" but I think it's darker than that. The author is the book editor for TIME so the actual writing is pretty fantastic.

  • I just finished 11/22/63. It was a good read, a little cumbersome in some parts, but when it was over I just wanted to keep reading it. It was hard to put down.
