People suck sometimes

I took today off and our nanny and I took the kids to the beach. The leaves are already turning around here, and DD1 starts school on Monday, so I thought we'd squeeze out one last day of summer.. We walked down the sand and found a spot to set up. Two women nearby started swearing, loudly. The wouldn't stop. Literally not a conversation, just "f---, f---, f--kity f--- f---." All so that we wouldn't sit near them. So we moved away so we wouldn't have to hear them. I saw them laughing and high-fiving as we left. WTF?? I get not wanting to be near kids, but really? It's a public beach! What an awful way to start our nice beach day.

If I were a fast thinker (which I probably wouldn't be), I'd lead the kids in all the I-love-Jesus songs I could think of and encourage them to sing loudly.

we were at the beach last weekend and a large family, probably 10 people set up within 6 inches of us and every time they headed to the ocean they choose to walk directly in between us. We left within an hour of them coming so although I thought it was moronic, I didn't bother to get too pissed off or move.

Just kind of curious, I'd assume the beach wasn't packed today, how close were you that over hearing them so clearly caused you to move?

We weren't that close. Absolutely a reasonable distance away. They were yelling. I HATE when people set up right on top of us at the beach, so really try to keep a good distance. The tide was high, so not a ton of space, but we were not encroaching.

Also, I had an awesome plan for revenge. Upon leaving, I planned to dump 2 bags of goldfish all around their stuff. The seagulls are awful and a little bit scary at that beach.

Sadly, they left before I had the chance.

As obnoxious as they were, this is equally as obnoxious and rude.
