Change in child's vision in a few months? **Update in OP**

We see the eye dr every year and have since kids were 3.5.  DD wore reading glasses from K until this summer.  We went to the eye dr in June and she no longer needed reading glasses and her distance vision was ok also.  They recently moved desks around at school and now DD sits in the back of the room.  She said last night that she has a hard time reading the entire agenda that's written on the board.  I'm going to call the eye dr today.  Is it possible to have a vision change requiring glasses for distance in a matter of a couple of months?

FWIW, her twin brother also wore reading glasses for the same amount of time.  In June, he no longer required reading glasses, but got glasses to wear all the time as he was unable to see far away.

**UPDATE**

She did indeed have a vision change and now requires glasses to see distance.  Eye dr said it doesn't happen too often, but it's not a concern.  He also didn't charge for the visit.  :)

  • It can definitely change especially if she just had a growth spurt.

  • My understanding is that children's vision actually improves until they're around 10.  So a slightly nearsighted kid could actually grow out of glasses as they get older.

  • She is going to the eye dr Monday. I'll update when I know something. Thank you all!
