Husband traveling

My husbands dad is in the hospital so he is going to be out of town all weekend again. I keep getting panic attacks that I am going to go into labor and he won't be there to help me through it and miss the whole experience. Everyone keeps saying ohhh yeah any day now which just stresses me out more!

Hi there. Its only 4 hours away which should hopefully be plenty of time. BUT my son came in only 6 hours and they said for my second I would need to get to the hospital ASAP

I am sure it will probably be fine but him traveling right now makes me super uncomfortable but I can't really say anything.

Another option I thought I could go with him. It will be super uncomfortable but if I went into labor at least we would be together.

I know all this worry is probably so useless and she will come late afterall. But with these hormoes and no sleep I am a stress ball!

DH and DS are actually 3 hours away right now, I had to stay back for an extra monitoring appointment today. It did cross my mind that my appointment could go wrong and then I would be totally on my own, but I am sure he can get back if needed.

I'm sorry, that is really stressful. Last weekend DH went back to his home town for a wedding (5 1/2 hours away). I was about 33 weeks and felt fine, so I wasn't too concerned, but I did warn him that he needed to keep his phone on and be checking it just in case!

I know how you feel. My DH has to travel for work on a regular basis (up to 5 hrs away). My last labor was less than 2.5 hours so I'm kind of freaking out that if he's working he won't make it home in time.

My other 2 kids came 2 and 6 days after my due date... but I'm paranoid that if I'm expecting another late baby, she'll come early.

I know how you feel! Hopefully you have someone close by you can count on to make you feel more at ease about your H travelling.

DH leaves for a conference in Latvia next weekend and will not be back until the following Thursday.

DH is also away on business travel til Sunday. This chart should make us feel better though, it shows the odds of spontaneous labor every day from 35w on. At 36w0d the odds of having started labor are 1.4%, but 37w04 still only 4%

My husband has to present at a conference in Dallas when I will be 38 weeks. We are in the NY/NJ area so it's about a four hour flight. DS1 was already born by that point in my last pregnancy. I am so, so nervous but trying not to think about it yet since there's nothing we can really do. He's going to fly in that morning, speak for an hour, and fly home.

I totally know how you feel! DH works offshore and will be home for two weeks starting next week, and not again until mid to late October. It would take him at least 2 days to get home if anything were to happen.

I've been stressing about it, but I recently realized that I can't change it. I just hope and pray that the baby is on time and it will all work out.

I agree with other PP, talk to family and friends and have a back up plan in case he isn't here. That's really all you can do at this point.

That's a really interesting chart. Especially since I think a lot of times as enormous (sorry) pregnant women we are over being pregnant and keep thinking we HAVE to go early, but statistically we'll most likely make it to pretty close to our due dates.

I'm sorry you are stressing! FX nothing happens over the weekend! With DS, DH was out of town for 2 full weeks from 36-38 weeks. Everyone kept telling him he was crazy for leaving me so close to my due date but we were fine! He came home with plenty of time to get everything done that was left to do and come with me to the hospital. Try not to worry too much.You still have 4 weeks left until baby's due date.
