Big thanks to my labor buddy for keeping the board updated and for being amazing overall.

My due date was yesterday 9/4. I had been having contractions for over a week and was generally over this whole thing. I went to my weekly appointment and I was 4 cm. My doctor asked me how I wasn't in labor yet, I wished I had known why! She offered to give me a sweep and scheduled my induction for 9/11. I started having some more intense contraction right after the sweep and lots of bright red blood. By the time we got home I had some GI upset as well. I figured all were good signs and I would be in labor that night.

Around 11 pm my contractions had stopped. I was really bummed and accepted the fact that I was just going to be induced. At least there was an end in sight. I fell asleep around 2 am and woke up at 4 am to pee. While in the bathroom, I had the worse contraction I've ever had. The contractions kept up so I woke up SO and jumped in the shower. My contractions were timable to every 1.5 minutes and lasted around 30 seconds each.

We dropped off DD to my mother and headed into L&D. This was around 6 am, and I was 5 cm. They started my admission and quickly got my epidural. My epidural started wearing off quickly and I started to be able to feel contractions in my bum and felt lots of pressure. I was checked and at 8 cm. About 20 mins later I told my nurse I was having the urge to push and I was 10 cm. The Dr and nurse kept telling me to breath and not push because they were scrubbing up, but I couldn't wait. It was like my body pushed by itself, but I didn't give any extra effort. I was given the okay to push and baby girl was born 10 minutes later.

Emily Ryan was born on 9/5 at 8:47 am. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and is 19.5 inches long. I am in love and can't wait for big sister to meet her later.
