bleeding on day 25?

Please don't flame me as I know this could be flame-worthy on TB... I'm on day 25 and am getting cramping, bleeding. It feels like a period. However, my cycle has never been this short (EVER). Last month it was 39 days. Usually it's 32-34. Pretty sure I ovulated on 8/24, making me 12 dpo. Probably too late for implantation bleeding, right? I had no implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy, so I don't have anything to compare this to.

Why is my body such a freak?!

I wouldnt say its necessarily too late. Unless you are charting/temping there is no way to know 100% when you ovulated. If you are 12 dpo you MAY be able to get a (+) on a test. I would go ahead and POAS and see.

ETA: I just went through this...I was due to get AF today actually, I started very light spotting from last saturday until about tuesday (wore a panty liner but didnt really need much)....tested the other day and got a +....

  • I always had 28-29 day cycles and then it randomly went to 22-23 days for about 3 months. The body is so weird, you think you're in a good routine and it suddenly changes. I would say its just one of those months it can't make up its mind about what to do. POAS if it will help ease your mind, but I would assume AF is just being a B and wants to throw you off.

  • I agree with the PP's. If you're not temping, you don't know for sure that you are 12 dpo, so it really could go either way at this point. It could be earlier than you think it is and possibly be implantation bleeding, or it could be the start of your period. My LP was usually 11 days, so I would start my period on 12 dpo. That's still a normal luteal phase even if your overall cycle was shorter than usual.

Since you're having cramping and bleeding that seems like a period, that's probably what it is. Sometimes our bodies just like to be weird and throw in random shorter or longer cycles.

  • yeah... definitely my period. It is heavier now. Ugh. Called an RE today and made an appointment.

I was temping... but temps/times were inconsistent and I had a few days missing due to forgetfulness. Temping was much easier pre-baby and pre-nursing job! My estimate O was based mostly off of OPKs.
