Today my kid cried because....

This morning, my kid cried because I gave him toast with strawberry jam on it. Apparently, the only acceptable way to eat toast is with honey, and, obviously, the only way to tell me was to throw a 10 minute fit on the floor screaming. After he got his point across, he climbed into his seat, ate the toast with jam and a banana, and life was blissfully sweet. Ya know, until i make such a tragic mistake again.....

So, why did your kid cry today/yesterday??

  • Loading the player...
  • I stupidly made the mistake of downloading a toddler game on my phone (it's a 'learning' one and they pretty much just have to tap the items on the screen), but DS LOVES it (17M), and he cried this morning as soon as he saw my phone cuz he wanted his game. UGH. I've created a monster...
    OMG too many tickers...

  • I have a 7 month old so the list of reasons for crying today would be endless and probably really boring ;)

  • He "not like school!" He is doing preschool at daycare so we just say he is going to school. Pitched a fit. Breaks my heart every morning.
  • Yesterday, DD cried when she realized she had eaten her entire sweet potato and there was no more left.

Also, she cried because she stuck the bubble wand in her mouth and got a lick full of soap. (Of course this was after I tried to teach her how to hold it far away and she cried bc I was holding it.)

    Jan 15  NOV siggy challenge:

  • I wouldn't let B (15 months old) play with the remote after he tried to order a 15 dollar movie....

I wouldn't let him play in the sink

    He had to get dressed

The list goes on...There are way too many tantrums happening in the Lima Bean house
And now I just want a big bowl of lima beans

  • DS3 cried because DD4 took back her sparkly pink ball. I should add that DS3 barely blinked when he got a shot at the doctor this morning...
  • DS threw a fit because Peppa Pig was not on when we got home last night and again when it wasn't on this morning.  Good thing for DVR. :)
  • DD cried when I put on Madagascar instead of Frozen this morning so I could shower. She then cried because I wouldn't let her play in the toilet. Then again because I put on a blue tank top and not a pink tank top like she requested. She'll be 2 next month!

  • My daughter cried yesterday because she got all twisted up in her dress-up dress while trying to get it on herself.. because laying on the floor in the playroom kicking and screaming is a much better way to solve your problem than say, asking Mommy for help?
  • DS (16 months) threw a fit at play group because he wanted to play with a toy that another boy was already playing with. We have had the same exact toy sitting in the playroom at home for months and I've never seen him touch it...hello nap time.

DD cried this morning when another little girl looked at her. Didn't touch her, didn't say anything to her, didn't even get close to her. Nope. Apparently just a glance from the other little girl was enough to start the water works. I'm getting really tired of this whole "other kids are terrifying" deal...

  • Wow. This thread makes me really look forward to having a kid! I am not going to lie, I am a little bit more scared of dealing with little monster and future tantrums etc after reading this. I am hoping that they don't make up the majority of his waking hours though and hopefully that will help.

Honestly it's annoying sometimes, but sometimes the things that upset them can be a tad hilarious. I feel like a good sense of humor has kept DH and I sane and united over the last 16 months!
Also the cute things they say and do in between those tantrums are totally worth it. :)  Nothing feels better when your toddler grabs you and pulls you in for a great big hug, or watching them do a little dance and head bop when music comes on, the funny little snort DS makes for his pig noise when Peppa Pig finally comes on, and the million of other things that make you laugh and smile really make it possible to get through those tantrums.  It can be very annoying but don't stress because they'll steal your heart and it's crazy what we moms can actually manage when in the situation.  I was always so scared because I had no patience and kids in general scared me, but now that I'm a mom, it is definitely bearable because of all those other little things they do. Aw, I can tell I'm feeling sentimental today. :)  Ask me again in a few hours/days when I'm pulling my hair out because my toddler is being so naughty.
  • The slice of cheese I gave her was not in the shape of the sun.
  • I don't have kids but my fur baby cried today because the other fur baby bit his ear. I'm glad it wasn't my fault for once! Sometimes my pregnancy body trips over his paws or nose and I feel terrible. He also cried when I took him for a walk and he couldn't lick the soccer players... Across the road. Poor thing has such a rough life lol
  • He couldn't have ice cream for breakfast.
