Hello! *waves* I posted originally on TTTC, and was pointed over here. Glad to see there is a better fit for me!
I'm not sure how much information everyone likes in an introduction, so I'll just touch on the basics. I'm 28 years old, DH is 33. We have a 3 year old daughter, and have been TTC a sibling for 12 months with no success. After my IUD was removed this time last year, I had a cycle as expected, and then nothing. In February I went to my OBGYN and was given progesterone to kick start another cycle. She ran some blood work on CD3 and diagnosed me with PCOS. She started me on metformin, which regulated my cycles, but still no luck conceiving. A few weeks ago, I went to my PCP for what I thought was a UTI. It turned out that I actually had a large cyst on my left ovary. The cyst, which was the size of a cantaloupe, was removed yesterday along with my left ovary and fallopian tube.
I'm bummed about losing an ovary ... bummed about sitting out this cycle while recovering ... nervous about our chances of conceiving.

A cantaloupe?!? I'm trying to wrap my head around that.

Yeah ... a cantaloupe. Pretty insane. At first, no one really thought it was going to be a big deal - myself included. Looking back, I had other symptoms going back for a few month, and just never put two and two together.
Silver lining? Hopefully my persistently bloated tummy will be a little flatter after the swelling from surgery goes down.

I lost one tube in Jan to an ectopic pregnancy, it sucks but I hope you and your Doc can come up with a plan to help your TTC process be stress free.
