  We need a vac so I'm happy to see this thread! We have carpet, tile and hard wood and have just been using a shop vac or broom since we moved!

  We just bought a roomba and I'm obsessed! We have tons of dark hardwoods and rugs and it does a crazy good job!

  I like my Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum Cleaner. It has a wood attachment, a carpet attachment, and a special attachment to get pet hair - works well for the furniture that I allow the cat on. And the furniture that she decides she should be allowed on

  @gwapes central vac is a system that runs through the walls of the house. The hose (vacuum) gets stored in a closet and plugged into the wall when you need to use.
