OK, we had a hot dog cart at DD's 3rd birthday...I love a party dammit!
And yes, you should probably have me committed, but the problem with the list is that everybody is friends with so and so and if we don't include her, she might get her feelings hurt when somebody mentions it at lunch, etc and so forth.
If I serve pizza, what goes with it? Nothing? What happens if somebody doesn't eat pizza? I thought about getting a small frozen gluten free and vegan option JUST in case.I've served these girls twice in the past year and they all seem to eat a lot and I don't remember any major allergies...
I did think about a nacho bar...then I thought about my house and nacho stuff everywhere. I wish I could buy hate nuggets.
What about a pizza truck? If thr party was outside that might be cool. They normally will pull up in your yard and they make pizzas for 2 hours or so.. what ever kind your guess ask for.
I love all you Northerners that think kids love Italian food. "Our" kids don't have it! The only reason we eat good Italian food is because my father was Sicilian!

I wish we had a pizza truck! I saw one that was an old fire truck but it lives in CA!

I didn't realize it was a Northern thing. It is a general crowd pleaser up here though. I mean, it's pasta. What's not to like?
seriously? For adults sure, but most kids down here? Nope.

What do people serve at things like baptisms and graduation parties if there isn't at least some mostaccioli represented? It is a staple, and is always on the menu because it is guaranteed to be eaten by even the pickiest eaters.
Ham? I know y'all are kidding around with this, but I mean we have a totally separate base cuisine down here obviously. Southern food...Ham with rolls or biscuits, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, pimento cheese...that's what is served here.
Gotta love a good LA party! At my best friend's son's birthday last year we had boudin and jambalaya. Delicious!
I shouldn't say nobody eats Italian, but it is not a staple here especially not for kids. I mean pasta sigh marinara maybe but not real Italian.
I'm flabbergasted that southern kids don't like italian food.
My kid would live on nothing but meatballs and sauce if I let him. And any kind of pasta with any kind of sauce.
This is me too. I grew up as a southern kid. All I wanted to eat was pasta and Italian food was a staple of ours. I would have no qualms serving pasta and red sauce type foods because I just assumed everyone loved pasta.

We have been to too many parties with the firetruck pizza guy. He wouldn't be fast enough for that many kids though. Add me to the pizza vote. It is easy to serve. Add a fruit salad and count it as done.

FTR, people eat Italian. It's just not the go-to thing to serve at parties like it apparently is up North. I guess our big party meal is BBQ if I think some more.

As my dad calls it, "The obligatory pan of mostaccioli" :P never realized that was a northern thing, interesting.
I haven't said anything about the mess, though it does sound horrible. Being as I have a 10 year old, I can tell you that a group of 10 year olds in Alabama would not know what to do with baked ziti at a party.
Re: So what would you serve...
Nope. FWIW One one of my kids and none of their 4 best friends would touch something like bake ziti.

Tomato sauce, sausage, "things" mixed together. LOL
I would do pizza all the way.
